That doesn't sound very Apple like. They always give you some sort of Restore and Backup Media. I am totally sure we'll get a Backup disc like usual, or a usb like with the Air.
You won't "get one," though they may have something in the OS to let you create one. (There are already instructions on the net floating around for how to do this - it's pretty easy.)
I'm totally sure that you won't. They may give you the option to create one yourself, but I'm around 95% certain that they won't be shipping them with computers. Why, because after making a big thing about there being no Lion disks available to consumers, it would be redundant to then offer disks. Apple will obviously create some way for the people buying Lion through the MAS to re-install it if their computers crash or something, most likely tied to the apple account used to purchase Lion in the first place, and I would assume that any new Mac customers would use the same method as well
On my Late 2008 2.0GHz Macbook with 4GB RAM, this is not fixed, and it's extremely annoying.
in my experience it lags a little longer and Spotlight only lags sometimes for me in SL after the first search.
I still don't believe that they won't put in a simple BackUp disc.
But we'll see for sure next month...I am excited about the final release.
Personally I just use Alfred and switch the keyboard shortcut to bring it up to the same as spotlight's. Alfred works a lot quicker and has more functionality and it's free.
So does anyone already know what the Update for DP4 changed? Except of course the obvious change for the LogIn-Screen...

Yes, it can be edited. I mean... as long as you have access to /etc/hosts. I don't know why or if Apple would ever disable functionality of something that's considered such a standard to operating systems in general. Even Windows has a hosts file.
I recommend booting off of an SSD in the expansion slot or a large SD if you only have space for an SD card, it really speeds things up in the older models.
I believe that's by design. Edit: nevermind, it does appear, but it takes a second. It think thats to ensure you don't make it appear by accident.

I'm pretty sure they mentioned that the dock and toolbars are still there, but they only show when you move your mouse over them. Have they not allowed that in safari?
The dock is not visible on mouseover. The menubar is available on mouseover in apps in full screen mode.

Does anyone have the new lion login image formatted for the iPad? I think it will good as a wallpaper.
The background image used on the login screen is tiled, meaning the image file itself contains a small picture.
Resizing it would pixelate the image too much.
Or, you know, just either screenshot it or take the tile and tile it in Photoshop
