So yesterday Federighi made a bit of a deal about smooth scrolling in Safari, Mail (thank god, finally), and so forth on the Retina MacBook Pro he was using for the demonstration.

So... someone with 10.9 and a rMBP... is scrolling in iTunes now smooth?

I always use iTunes in fullscreen, and I have around 1000 albums. Scrolling is a laggy, stuttery, horrible experience. Has 10.9 improved this any?

No, iTunes scrolling still sucks. I guess they need to update iTunes to take advantage of the new engine.

There you go :)

damn.

Really irks me that they can get complex things like Mission Control, Safari and Mail to scroll properly, yet not iTunes. :(

Hopefully we'll see the iTunes update you mentioned.

Horizontal Scroll Bar

Or little things that annoy me, like does the horizontal scroll bar in the Finder still cover the bottom item when you try to click on it (the bottom-most item is partially covered by the scroll bar but becomes almost totally covered when the scroll bar magnifies)? That happens to me all the time.

Noticed this almost immediately. Thank goodness somebody at Apple had enough sense to fix this behavior.

So running 10.9...

On 10.8 my VRAM is 512mb, which I thought was the limit on Intel with integrated graphics and 8gb RAM. But on 10.9 is shows this:

1GB VRAM. Don't know if it's a mistake or what but it's interesting anyway...

I have the cMBP from last year, and successfully applied the VRAM hack you'll find here in the forums: I went from 512 to 1024MB (on the HD4000), so it is possible Apple have applied this more permanently. I certainly noticed the difference when using Parallels (Win 7 Pro), especially playing Portal 2, where gameplay was much smoother than before. Happy days :)

Noticed another bug in Mavericks, when u go into "All My Files" in Finder if you scroll upwards really slowly on a trackpad the icons just keep going down and down until they go out of view in the window, not that it really matters but just something I found

Can anyone confirm if they've dropped Jabber support? This is absolutely essential for me as we use it for our live chat/support system.

it has smoother scrolling, new tab screen has changed and that new shared links thing that brings links in from twitter

Anyone else having problems with the scroll bar?

My screen scrolls just fine (it feels better than before for sure), but the scroll bar stutters all around.

Noticed that the clock now shows AM / PM in lowercase letters when I booted. Is there an option to show it uppercase/lowercase letters in previous versions of OS X or is this new?

You can change that. At least you can in 10.8. Go to System Preferences > Languages and Text > Region and click Customize under Time. See below, though I recommend you use something less insulting :D
