i guess you need a faster processor to disply battery life by percentage. This is a big **** you apple. They have no way to say this is even remotely hardware related. neither is anything else except magnetometer. Somebody needs to hack the 3gs firmware and get the features for us 3G'ers!!!

Once you jailbreak, you can edit the plist needed for the battery percentage.

i have jailbroken. I found it to be unreliable and slow. I'm not trying to sound like an ass or sound snotty or spoiled, but can't someone pretty much adapt a 3gs firmware for 3g to give us video recording and voice dialing and such. If it cant be done, it can't be done. All I know is their next iphone will either keep me on att or make me go to another carrier. i know att probably doesnt care, iknow they dont most likely. I just want apple to act like they are trying to sell a device, and get off their god damned high horse and think that if it has an apple on it, people will buy it. I want them to compete. Palm, I hope you do a good job on the pre. And all other competition should really step their game up. Us Iphone lovers need it!!

Ipod changes

I just noticed I can change the speed of forwarding/rewinding video or music on the phone by: grabbing the ball on the slider and adjusting the placement of my finger(height) while sliding the ball. If it was there before I never noticed it.

ya even though its faster just to copy and paste them

I don't think you can put multiple copies on the clipboard. With forwarding you can forward several messages from the thread, leaving out the unimportant ones.

Battery % indicator

I dont know why you guys dont see the battery % indicator... I can see it ...

that is probably photoshoped or ele provide directions to display it
Seriously I wish I could tell u where I got it from, but it was there when I restored.... I'm still syncing the songs so I might look around later...

Photoshopped??? Why would I be doing that... I got 3.0 .... I would be playing with it not editing some battery % spoof....

I will def post if I knew how I got the battery %

Can someone take a closer look at traffic on Google Maps? I'm wondering if they drill down to the street level now, where available. For example, in the Sacramento area, Google Maps on a PC browser shows traffic on both freeways and a few major roadways. But iPhone 2.x only shows traffic on freeways.

Here's a link to what I'm talking about

http://maps.google.com/maps?hl=en&ie=UTF8&layer=t&ll=38.546554,-121.479435&spn=0.049071,0.09347&z=1

I use the traffic feature on my iPhone all the time. I would not want it to include streets also; it would just be too cluttered and info overload. (I will compromise, and say that if they have the feature to turn street-level traffic on/off, then okay. We can both be happy)
Note: where I live, the computer version of Google Maps only displays freeway traffic; so it is a mute point for me. Irvine, California.

were you jailbroken previously? if you were jailbroken and installed something to display the battery percentage, it will stay there if you restored a backup from when you were jailbroken.

The JB % was implemented differently though. It replaced the battery image with the %, not side by side with the battery. My iPhone also has the % but I simply updated to 3.0. Either way I could live with it/without it doesn't matter that much

Both my iPhone 3G and iPod touch are running 3.0 and they DO NOT show the battery percentage. So the two people who claim to have it must have been using a jailbroken app and didn't remove it prior to the firmware update.

The "Show preview" on/off option in Messaging option has been there for a while. Not new in 3.0.

sorry, i don't have an iPhone so i'm going with what people tell me with that. thanks for letting me know, i removed it form the list.

that is photoshoped

I have battery % also

also was in a barnes & noble with a starbucks ATT wifi hotspot today, when joining the ATT hot spot i didn't have to enter my # and go through the text message process to get the free iphone wifi, i was automatically authenticated and able to use the wifi after a few seconds of a "loading" screen in safari, might just be a coincidence in timing but it is new within the last week or so.

I can verify that if you enable percentage on a pre 3.0 JB phone and you do not turn it off, after a restore the .plist or whatever file gets copied back and the % remains. I have it.

Thank you for clearing this up. Case closed on the percent meter.
There are numerous people that have already posted on here that they have 3.0 and there is no percent meter. Let's move on to other features please...

Not a hidden feature, but anyone get the user/pass auto fill working? Doesn't work for me for a back end admin area, uses web feilds.

Unless it's only for popup u/p?
