Agreed. 11 has been a nightmare for me on my 7+. So many massive problems that are distributed all over the OS. Full resets at least 3x daily. Worked perfectly before. Really sad.

I’ve usually updated early and have never experienced anything remotely close to these problems before.

I think people are truly discounting how phone breaking this update is for some people. It’s great if it works for you but don’t discount the problems that others are having...

The lag (frame dropping) happens at the end of the animation.

Not that I can detect. The animation is really quite short, I don't know how you can detect frame drop in there. I even watched it in slow-mo in VLC.

Not discounting, just saying that what you're apparently experiencing is not the norm. You should seek help from Apple.

Well, I see it quite clearly on my iPhone 7. Also Safari freezing, and the OS occasionally ignoring taps and swipes, among other problems.

I guess you never saw the forums when iOS 10 was in beta and then released. People cried that iOS 10 was the worst and iOS 9 was the best. People cried that iOS 9 when in beta and released that it was the worst and iOS 8 was the best. It happens every year.

I literally saw a memeber on this forum who was one of the loudest posters about iOS 10 being the worst, and last week saying iOS 10 was the best and iOS 11 is the worst. But how can iOS 10 be the best when this time last year he endlessly complained about iOS 10 being the worst with iOS 9 being the best?

iOS 8 and 9 worked flawlessly when they came out. Not talking about the betas, but public releases were great. iOS 10 was good too, only problem is that it killed the battery life on my 6s. Other than that, everything worked fairly well.

iOS 11 is on a whole new level. So many bugs!

I agree. iOS 8 and 9 did work quite well (for me) but if you watched and read these forums at the time, you would have seen the same non stop complaining about how bad iOS was then, as you do now. It’s an annual tradition around here. And often the same users making those posts. Saying how bad X version of iOS is, and then changing Gen their tune when the next version is released. X becomes good and Y is now bad.

I've noticed that iOS11 seems to be the most unstable for me too.

I've never had issues with battery life, iTunes not being able to detect my iPhone, crashes, or the constant need to restart my iPhone with previous iOSes. I've started with the iPhone 4s back in 2012 and of all, iOS11 seems to be the iOS giving me the most issues.

Restore your phone as new. I guarantee that will solve a majority of your problems. Not all, but a good amount.

Sorry I am not very tech savy but what can you suggest for me to do if I'm going to restore my iPhone as new without losing photos, texts, notes and contacts?

I tend to believe people forget what iOS 1 to 3 were like when saying "omg it's the worst OS EVAH!!!" It's clearly a gross exaggeration if you ever used the first few versions of iOS and how bad they were when only doing all of 50 features too.

Post a screen recording, I'll point it out to you.

iOS11 is FAR from the "worst" overall in terms of fluidity, speed, etc when considering the features compared to 8-10 years ago have gone up 100 fold.

Why would you need to do this and rid yourself of everything you have?

Doesn't restoring as new also erase all your blocked number features and things you can't possibly get back? Why can't Apple just make it work like usual? lol.

What is a blocked number feature?

weird, no issues for me what so ever on my iPhone 6, iPhone 7 Plus, iPad Air 2 and iPad Pro (10.5) besides the annoyance that the music app always overwrites other media sources until i open and completely close the music app on first play.

edit: 3D Touch shutter may be there (only after its been pointed out to me) but i couldnt care less! i dont kiss the screen with my face to spot 0.0001 mili second shutters 24/7

Me neither. I only joined Apple with the SE so was that 8 or 9? 11 seems ok on my iPP and 7 Plus. Can't even say I've noticed any difference in the battery although that's a difficult call with the iPP as I now work from home more so it gets more use. Similarly I've just joined Apple Music so the 7 Plus takes a bit more of a hit

No..................................................................... "blocked number features and things" are all stored in the Cloud. lol.

No, when you restore the phone from icloud everything comes back just as is. Yu are not getting rid of everything.

Setting up as new merely means you are wiping the old OS version totally off of the phone and new Os version the only one. There can be no possibility of a bug due to something not being overridden in the OTA process. It solves many bugs for many people doing so.

Same no issues and no sensitivity to .0001 millisecond 3D touch stutters.

Im convinced some here will always find somethign to complain about because that's just who they are and have nothing better to do with their time sadly all day.

So now all of a sudden everyone is acknowledging 3D Touch stutter, even though they were denying it before? Just lol.

As I was saying, there is no "different experiences". There are people who are power users and notice small issues, and those who are casual users and don't.

You can transfer your photos to your computer, you can make sure contacts and notes are syncing with iCloud, but not, you cannot retain your text messages.

Almost everything is now stored in iCloud but app data and text messages. So restoring as new is really not that big of a deal and it can rid you of dozens of issues you are experiencing. All it takes is a couple corrupt bytes of code to screw up the entire OS.

How can you possibly begin to say "there is no different experiences". Just take battery life for one variable. Everyone has different battery life. There are thousands of variables with software and yes, everyone will have different experiences. If you honestly think people won't have differences with software, you are blind. Its been this way for decades of software. Some people experience bugs while others don't because of a potential faulty install.

Because it's easier to put finger in one's ears and go "la la la la" I can't hear you I am right /thread "la la la la"

Battery life is a function of individual usage, so I guess you're right. I meant more performance and UI glitches, that's universal however people perceive it differently.

I have personally experienced one device with a software bug and another device without it. Both phones set up as new the very same day. Both are iPhone 8Plus devices. One has app icons go completely missing 10x a day, while the other has never had that happen once. This is only one example of many I have witnessed. You can’t tell me there are no differences.
