It took 2 months but I finally put down my vote for this thread. 11"

After 5 years of trying to make the 12.9 my "all-in-one" solution, it has become very clear that Apple has no intention to optimize the larger iPad interface, utilize this excessive power or even allow their own apps. So I recently switched to an 11" and I love it. While I do lose out on that big screen, I do gain comfort, portability and an interface that feels appropriate for the side. In other words, I now have a tablet.

What is your actual use case? In other words, what tasks do you aim to complete in using the tablet?

I would offer I guess a third point of view or something in the middle. I do hope that most people don't buy expensive stuff just for ego you know. I hope that they buy expensive stuff because they get benefits from it - whether it is how they feel or how they work.

Are they people that buy stuff for status? Most probably yes but I am not sure that those people are the ones writing and reading in those forums. Or at least most of them would not.

That being said I would not say that iPad Pro 12.9 is more expensive than say 11 inch because it is better per say. It is more expensive to produce it hence more expensive to buy it. I do hope that people buy it because they believe it is the best iPad for them.

To sum up - all people that voted for 12.9 inch did it because it is better for them. 12.9 inch is more expensive than 11 inch because it costs more to produce it.
12.9 IPP is better for ME. My colleague? 11 IPP is better for HIM.
To. Each. His/Her. Own.

The OP said nothing about needing to be mobile. For the screen size and ability, the OP might consider the M1 MBA instead, seeing how he mentioned he liked the 12.9"size. That is all my post was about.

Do you have any other rude comments to make? If you do, keep them to yourself and don't waste my time.

And yes, I am well aware of the difference. I have both products. If you saw my signature, you would know that.

I think this discussion focusses on people who already have decided what their use case is and what device they’d like to do it on but are unsure about the size.

12.9 Pro 2020 and Mini 2 user here. I really like the two extremes, and am holding out for a Mini 6 soon. My 12.9 has replaced my old Macbook Air. I have little use for a medium-sized iPad.
I’m surprised your mini 2 is still kicking!

For people that may need to compare the dimensions of the two models I attached some pictures of my 12.9" 2018 and my girlfriend 11" 2020 ;)

I have had a 2020 11” IPad Pro for over a year now. I will be giving this to my wife and getting the next 12.9 that comes out. The 11” works great, is portable easy to hold, etc. However, increasingly I am using it as a primary device and spending more time on it. Having the larger screen and more real estate would be great for my eyes and for mult-tasking. That is the thinking at least, really depends on how you will use it. Will find out here if/when they release the next one.
