The page screen size is great for comics and magazines and in general the screen acreage is great for photo retouching and illustration/
Web surfing and media consumption are also excellent experiences on it. I take it with me. Use a laptop or courier bag (depends) and no issues. It’s comfortable in my lap when sitting or on my chest when in bed.
When reading books and holding in landscape, you get two nicely sized columns of text.
It’s like a small tv monitor when watching video/movies.

Exactly how I feel. I haven't missed the 11" or the smaller iPads at all. Also, when you need to read instructional pdf's for, say, assembling an end table, it's so nice to view them on the big iPad. :)

This 11” is a great iPad. Haven’t missed my old 12.9” at all. The ability to charge a phone is great, the the apple pencil is so much better than the old version.

Any place but here or there....
I was almost tempted to give into Best Buy's current sale with one of these this morning, but I'll wait until the next gen and see if Apple addresses the touch issues (and build quality of these iPP. They feel very fragile to me.)

I am not ready for Face ID yet either. I will probably just try an Air once those are on sale and hang onto that until the next gen Pros.

As far as size, the only thing that was swaying me toward the 11" this morning was the price and possibility of one handed use.

My favourite place to use my 12.9 - not my choice of alcohol!

I have the tab S4 as a family tablet and it certainly lags when opening it after not using it for a few days..makes me really love my pro even more given how smooth and fast this is...speed on this thing is still amazing.

Well, I just went from the 11 to the 12.9 and couldn’t be any happier. So, changing my vote. Should have went this route from the start, but it was a tough decision early on!

Yeah, I am currently in this dilemma right now. I had a 2017 12.9” and just recently decided to get the new 2018 version because of the pencil upgrades, FACE ID, less bezel etc. I went with the 11” because there were a couple of instances where the 12.9” size was too big (not many). I have loved my time with the 11” so far, but it still just keeps bringing me back to missing that giant screen. I have 3 days left to decide if I want to keep the 11” or exchange it for the 12.9” and I keep leaning 12.9”. Especially with the possible upgrades that will come with iOS 13. I think I will regret the 11” if I can do all kinds of great “laptop like” things with it.

I had the previous generation 12.9 and felt it was just too big for me. I just got the Pro 11 and feel like it’s the perfect size sized tablet. I love the 11” size.

Just got my Smart Keyboard folio a few minutes ago and it’s a great buy. Go for it !

I just got the Logitech Slim Folio Pro: it's big and bulky, but it offers a lot of protection, and I love the function keys. The Smart Keyboard Folio is so nice for the light weight and functionality, but I do miss having those function keys. I'm going to have to return one of them, and it's a difficult choice for me. :)

There is a notable difference between the two 12.9 models. Maybe you should try the new one..

The new 12.9 really is a better handling experience than the previous model, so much so that I chose it over the 11".

I also had to choose between the light weight and the function keys. I chose the light weight. I guess both options are great and it really comes down to ones personal preference.

Good luck choosing !

Exchanged my 11” for the 12.9” tonight and man I made the right decision. The new form factor of the 12.9” makes all the difference. It’s the perfect device for me. The 11” was just to small and I have a feeling with the new iOS 13 rumors I would regret the 11”.

Anyone that thought the old 12.9” was too big, try one of the new ones. Same large screen, much lighter and much smaller footprint. I can’t recommend it enough.

I went from the 10.5 to the 12.9, and I’m pleased with the decision. My main purpose was to use it for document reading, note taking and media consumption. It excels at all of those. It’s still a touch heavier than I’d like, so I find myself removing the smart folio when I’m handholding it a lot, which is easy to do.

I had the 12.9" iPad Pro and was happy with it using it like a notebook but then when I started to travel, I realized the bigger size is a problem.

Now I have switched to 11" and it is perfect.

My arms get less tired now holding the iPad Pro one handed.

There is no use to worry about iOs 13 because there are 11" notebooks in the market and it is very much normal. Hell there are even smaller notebooks as well.

The main thing is to get the one which suits your needs the most.

For me it comes down to that with the keyboard the 12.9” is heavier than the Macbook at over 1 kg. I have tried the 12.9” as a tablet and it is just too big and heavy for me during normal tablet mode and if I would be using it with the keyboard all the time anyway the Macbook makes more sense.

The 11” on the other hand is perfectly fine as a tablet and not too small to use with the keyboard at all. I can type away easily on it so it kind of becomes the a good middle ground.

I'd planned on holding off on this decision until after iOS 13 is released but the current sale on Amazon swayed my decision to buy now . I ultimately decided to go with the 12.9 Weight wise it's about the same as the iPad 4 I'm currently using .Time will tell if the increased size works for me or not but I figured after a week or two of hands on testing I'll know for sure

I have really been struggling with whether or not to purchase the keyboard folio. I was a HUGE fan of the ASK, and I hate that they made it into a folio and added that bulk. I just haven’t been able to jump on the bandwagon.

Of course, now that we’ve gotten some actual DECENT WiFi out here in the boonies, I am toying with getting another iMac (the new ones are trying really hard to suck me in), and possibly going back to a more basic iPad - even a mini I can just throw in my purse.

IDK - I’m struggling.

The thing is, I NEVER do anything with my pro that a lot of people do. I don’t watch movies, play games, etc. I mainly use it for work stuff, and that’s generally typing documents (I do have a full size bluetooth keyboard that’s awesome), using the internet, etc. I have a single game I play regularly and I usually wind up playing it on my phone at least half the time because I don’t wind up wanting an iPad in my lap.

I have a 10.5 pro for my work-at-home job (provided by the girl I work for), and it’s usually in my lap for editing photos, so when I put it away, I often just grab my phone.

Anyway, just rambling, and realize this has ZERO to do with the topic here, but hey - maybe someone can tell me what to do. ;-p

I mean, the iOS 13 thing is totally subjective though. The 12.9” will always give you more room to work, so you cant argue against that. And if you are able to do all the extra multitasking “laptop” like things on iPads in the future, the 12.9” will be the winner for being able to fit more things easily. That you cannot argue against.

Now, if you have wonderful eyes and dont mind small windows this wont matter to you, and the 11” will be just fine.

It all comes down to preference. I am a big guy, 6’2” 230lbs, very large hands etc. So when you see me with a 12.9” iPad in my hands, it would seem like I was holding the 11” as its similar to the size ratio for a normal person using the 11”. I had the 11” for 13 days and I loved it, but it just felt more and more like a mini iPad in my hands.

It’s one of those things when you make the switch at some point, it makes it harder and harder to reduce the size. I will never be able to go back to smaller phones after I got my first plus sized phone. I hated every minute of the year I had my iPhone X. It was way to small. The max is amazing for me. I can one hand everything with no issues whatsoever.

So again, just preference, but there is no doubt you will be able to fit more on the 12.9” screen when iOS 13 launches.

I am small built 5 ft 4". I was managing the 12.9" iPad Pro fine but it really got tiring holding the iPad Pro for a long time either 2 handed or single handed.

However once I changed to the 11" model, it is so much more comfortable. I did the shift aftat her making sure I was able to use the smart folio keyboard with it.

I have the 1TB model with 6GB ram. I think iOS 13 should be helpful to my iPad Pro.

Right, you basically made my argument exactly for me. The weight and size of the 12.9” is no issue for me with my size, frame and hand size. If you put the two of us side by side and you were holding the 11” and I was holding the 12.9” it would look like we are holding the same device because I would be so much bigger than you.
