It’s the cellular version too!

Silver color. I would say the condition is 8.5/10. There’s a thumb size scratch in the screen but not visible when on.

I added Apple care to it, so might just bring it in and pay $49 for screen replacement. Even with $49 added to $1,080, it’s still a great deal. Esp with cellular version

Congrats! That’s a great deal! I gotta 12.9” iPP 256gb LTE... mine is on contract.

Are you planning on using it for cellular or you wanted it for GPS?

I'm pretty nitpicky about scratches, but for that deal, I think I could have been able to overlook it. Can you feel the scratch with a fingernail or when using Apple Pencil?

Nope I don’t feel it and as for pencil, I don’t have one yet so I haven’t tested that out.

It’s on the bottom left if you have the front camera on the left and on horizontal form, so it isn’t right in the middle.

I actually didn’t want the LTE version but I figure I might as well get it in case I decide to pop a sim in there for data. Apparently Tmobile has a deal for tablet that’s $20 a month for unlimited data

Look, I spent like 40 hours testing a 512GB against against a 1TB. Give me a couple days and I will put together a list of all of the apps I had trouble with. I’m very busy though. I have tons and tons and tons of screenshots, and video, and all kinds of resources of problems with a 4GB model iPad with me comparing it directly to a 1TB ipad.

This is why I purchased a 1TB.

Like I said, you can make the 4GB models work. But, it isn’t always smooth. That is why I was after. It is hard to edit a timeline when your getting 1 frame per second. That was my main issue! On top of everything.

I’m really just curious about the ones that “totally fail to run correctly” - rephrased: these don’t work with anything but 6GB iPads. Your post I was responding to doesn’t contain anything like “you can make 4GB models work”. I am looking forward to your list to give these apps that don’t run correctly a go myself. Thanks in advance for backing up your claims.

So I just installed iPadOS beta on my IPP. Quite a lot of learning needed to maximize the features they claim.

Yeah, I’ve decided to stop using SplitScreen for my iPP with using iPadOS.

I keep all my apps in the dock. So a simple swipe up gives me access to them. I am utilizing the floating Window/SlideOver now more than ever.

I have Safari as a full screen or any apps that would benefit as a full screen window and apps I prefer as a floating Window/SlideOver I keep in that state. I can swipe up on the Window/SlideOver to access those quickly.

Message conversation can turn into a Window/SlideOver too, iPadOS is a game changer. I’m definitely enjoying it.

Ultimately, there no one “right” answer. It’s different strokes for different folk and tolerance for size vs. portability.

I originally had the 12.9 and switched to the 11 because I do a fair amount of travel and it’s just easier to deal with the 11. I always travel with my 13” MBP so if I need size, I just use that. Having the 12.9 + 13” MBP seemed a bit redundant whereas the 11 is the tiny digital notebook computer I can use when I don’t feel like using the larger device.

Again to each his/her own. Enjoy your devices!

Thanks for sharing. How many apps can you fit in the dock comfortably to make this work?

Well, it’s all preference at this point. I used to jungle which apps to keep in the dock. Now, I’ve trimmed it down to 9 apps and a folder to access all my apps.

I keep my most used apps in front, but I can always access most of them through the floating window/SlideOver.

Bought the 12.9 today having had the 10.5 inch 2017 iPad Pro. Enjoying the lovely screen but can already feel the hit in portability. Given I got the 1tb for just £1200 I’m tempted to keep it!

For me yes. Videos will be larger and it’s just “bigger enough” to make a difference. Plus, it’s really really fast, and the USB C charging and Smart Keyboard is great.
Awesome good to know! I’m worried that 3rd party apps might not have updated for the new resolution but guess it won’t be too noticeable

I cant see the benefit of the 11 over the 10.5, a few seconds faster for what exactly, and the ASK in the former model makes it so light and easy with folding back to become a great writing tablet with the pencil, ok gen 1 but is it that different an experience? However the 12.9 does seem a significant upgrade for the screen space and much more manageable than my 2015 gen1 so this is what gets my vote (but not my wallet, yet).

I’ve been using the 12.9 gen 1 for almost 4 years now. I just bought a 10.5, and I’m loving moving back down to the lighter iPad. I really don’t feel cramped at all.

Are you finding the 11 inch different enough from the 10.5 to justify the upgrade?
I found it worth it in my situation going from 10.5" to 11" because it allowed for the addition of FaceID and turned the iPad itself into more of a real computer screen. Once FaceID came out on iPhone, the home button on iPad became a major annoyance to me.

I just returned the Air 3 after half a week and got the 11 Pro instead. I couldn’t deal with the home button anymore after being spoiled by the iPhone XS Max. It’s not even the lack of FaceID itself, but I kept finding myself trying to task switch by swiping left / right at the bottom of the screen.

I just got a 512GB 3rd Gen 12.9 as an update to my 10.5 iPP and couldn't be happier with it. A superb device and the size/weight don't bother me at all.

Congrats! What made you decide on the 12.9” over the 11”? Most people in your situation would go with the 11” for portability...

I really wanted it for the larger display - it improves the experience of media consumption and works better for me for photo processing. I personally don't consider the new 12.9 to be not portable; I don't have any problem with the size and weight though I am not a large person. Of course, what I'm describing is personal preference and satisfaction and others can and do feel differently about the size question.

This thread will never die! I initially ordered an 11” from Amazon but after playing with the larger model in store and decided to get a 12.9” instead. I think the there is definitely some trade off between portability and screen size but the larger size is better for me to take hand written notes.
