how the hell people are getting screen on times of 10, 12, 13 hours?? Mine barely made it past the day. charge once for sure. 4 hours of screen on time and it hits 20%. My iPhone 8 plus had 2 hours more screen on time than my brand new 11 pro max. I tried signing in out of iCloud, clearing the keychain database, disabling iCloud photo library, setting up as new phone, restoring. its not even a week old. wtf! how the hell do I get my moneys worth?? I ended up from 100 - 20 % with 4 hours of screen on time. what the actual ****

I need this 12 hour screen on time thing

Sounds like you got a lemon of a phone, but before we make any judgements...

Do you game a lot?
Do you have good signal at your place?

Do you have an app that is constantly refreshing in the background?

Show us your battery stats, there may be a culprit hidden somewhere there.

Hmmm....nothing really jumps out at me here, to be honest.

Nothing seems to be doing much in the background.

Maybe the phone is still settling in, use it until it dies then charge it up and see how it goes for the next week.

If it gets no better over the next week I would say take it back and get it swapped out.
Shouldn’t I be getting way more hours of screen on time? It hasn’t even reached five. People are getting ten.

FaceTime and Instagram are the two big reasons your battery has been taking a hit. Do you have notifications for Instagram turned on? Do you leave the app running in the background?

I wouldn’t say big reasons at all

That’s really up to your usage, some people spend a lot of time browsing the web and social media while others spend more time on Calls and Music for example meaning the screen may stay off for longer.
If you look at the minutes I’ve been in an app though I haven’t even hit an hour for any. I truly feel like it’s dying way too fast

For ex last night I charged it til 80. I’ve ten minutes of screen on time since then and it’s at 75%.

So this is where I am sitting today, took it off charge at 8:32am, it’s now almost 18:00 and I have 6h52min SOT almost 7hours and it’s still at 65%

Restore the phone using iTunes and setup as new without using your backup. I've had an issue like yours with my Air2 at the beginning of iOS13 and that was the only thing that fixed it. Something in the software was corrupt and every time I restored using backup it kept coming back. When I setup as new and used the phone for two days the battery was back to normal. Then I manually added all the apps and email accounts and tweaked settings. Signing into iCloud will return most of your important data so it really wasn't too bad to do..

I set up as a new phone when I got it. Do I still need to restore?

Not aure why it happens as I've always just used backups when I setup a new device and have never had issues. I just noticed a huge battery difference when going from iOS12 to iOS13 and no matter whatI did it never fixed it. Completely dumping the old backups and restoring using iTunes then setting the phone up without using the backup was an easy way to see if it was something software related or if it was a hardware issue. If it didn't fix it I could always just restore again and use my backup and be right back where I started from... Your issue could very well be hardware related but unless you eliminate the software side it's hard to know. Plus almost all 11 Pro Max owners rave about the battery performance they're experiencing so it seems isolated to your device

yep yep. at this point ive tried everything. apple ran a diagnostic and of course it showed up as fine. but my battery life is abysmal, on par maybe worse than my 8 plus.

I’m able to get through 10h SOT and charge literally only once a day. The only thing I did was turn off background app refresh, but other that that, I’m using the phone as is.

I also never put my phone on WiFi unless I need to update the software. I don’t know if that helps at all either. I do have Bluetooth on because I use my AirPods Pro and I have location services on only when I need to use certain apps, so maybe you can see if that is constantly being used? Like, for apps that require location I have it set where it ONLY uses the location when I have the app open, then after I close out of it, it doesn’t use it anymore.

Yep, me too for location settings. I thought putting it on wifi is supposed to extend the battery over lte? either way, I have strong signals for both.
is your apple id fairly new or have you been using apple products for years?

OK resetting it without logging into my apple id. will test for a few days and get back with results. if it ends up being amazing battery and then when I log in it goes back down to ****, what do I do?

Can you post a picture of your battery usage by app? I just checked my phone and Yahoo notifications was taking 26% of my battery. Turned it off.

Send it back to Apple for a replacement.
