Yeah going to 14Pro from 12Pro Max. So tired of the weight and size of the pro max.

I do think the argument to upgrade based on the battery wear a little OTT, as there is the option to replace the battery. I do find it humorous. upgrading based on reasons such as the battery (which can be replaced, relatively cheaply), when the price difference between a new battery for your current phone is a fraction of the cost of the new phone models, well its a weak argument. I prefer it when people just say I am upgrading because I want to lol.

I did have battery issues with iOS14 but since 15 came along my battery wear actually improved at least according to coconut battery (I am thinking the battery wear was mis-reporting previously in iOS14). If something does happen to the battery this year I would just replace it as at least here in the UK, the cost of the new phone is a fairly compelling reason to stick, or see what deals there are on the 13 models perhaps.
That’s not the only reason I’m personally upgrading but one of many.

Since around 75% of polled say they are upgrading to 14pro, are you trading in for $530 value at Apple? Swappa and eBay have buyer protections which they can claim against the seller up to 6 months later and try doing CC chargeback. I have sold my older iPhones on CL and OfferUp but some risk up front.

I’m keeping my 12 pro for now $425 trade in isn’t great to me. Might use as trade fodder down the road, a backup, a jailbreak tinkering device; etc

I had enough in gift cards for 14PM I didn’t need to forgo it

Plus need to make sure I like the new phone and all!

Regular 12 here. Ordered the 14 Pro Max. I wanted the Pro back when I got my 12 because my 7 year old Samsung died, but all they had was the 12 for Apple. I'm finally getting my Pro.

12 Pro… I think I’m good for another year. Nothing about the 14 is making jump towards it. No big spec upgrade. Same ram. The camera and battery are perfectly fine for my usage. Plus I’m really avoiding iOS 16 as well. This is the first time ever I’ve been uninterested in a iOS and iPhone “upgrade”.

I ordered 14 pro max from 12 pro max but will probably be returning found out my free safelink service doesn’t have esim.

I too have been underwhelmed with my 12 Pro battery. I only got the 12 Pro and not the Max 2 years ago because my 7+ was on its last legs and barely charging anymore, and the PM was delayed a month because of COVID so I had no choice but to jump to the 12 Pro. Has I been able to get a 12PM I’d probably still have it. That said, I’m not changing this phone for a minimum of 3 years.

has it gotten worse with iOS 16.0?

Verizon offered $800 trade for 11 Pro so took them up on it so 12Pro/Max should be better offer

How did it work? That’s the deal I’m considering. They pay off my $250 on my device and I get the new phone starting payments over?

so far its looking like a nice upgrade for me :D

Looking at my 12Pro in a different light after a couple days with 14PM.
12 Pro is still a great device but I figure if you dont look at your older device in a different light, it's not a worthy upgrade.

Ya from 12PM. I'm always wondering if I should go down in size, but I know I'm gonna end up regretting the bigger screen.

Keeping your JB 12 pro as a backup?

Yup. I still have it on 14.1. iOS 16 has been an adjustment for me since I skipped iOS 15, which I’ve never done before. I used to always be on the beta wagon but stopped with the 12. I have to say, I love the customizations that Apple have in 16, and haven’t thought about jailbreaking my 14PM. I’m happy using it this way.

It worked smooth. Better price than trying to sell on eBay, marketplace or gazelle, etc. Waived the $35 activation fee after asking too. For $5/month it was a no brainer to ditch the iPhone 11Pro with old battery health of 79%
