It has to be software related, yes. I had a replacement iPhone 8 that came with 12.1.3 which I updated to 13.1.2 about 8 hours later. Prior to updating, everything was working well. Post updating, data speeds have tanked like never before.

Seeing as the issues exist even in 13.2 beta, I fancy I will wait till a beta comes up that restores functionality (ironic) and I shall then hop back on the beta wagon again.
are you getting calls dropping on you?

Are calls cutting out on you ?/ Call failed / ?

I do not have dropped calls, only data connection issues.

Thankfully no, I do not suppose I am facing call-drop issues. Only data speed and latency issues.

My Carrier version is 38.5. What is the Carrier version for people experiencing LTE issues?

I’m on 13.1.2 and carrier is 38.0.1. I wonder if updating to 13.2 beta would give me 38.5 and that might help? Need more people to chime in with their carrier numbers!

The data drop out has been happening to me daily with 13.1.2 on an 11 Pro with T-Mobile. Only a restart fixes the issue. My Series 5 watch cellular connection has no issues.

It seems these Intel modems are junk. Why is it that only the 2018 and 2019 phones are the only ones getting updates for modem firmware? I could be wrong on this but that's what I see posted every time a new beta is seeded. Or at least why are the 2018 models still getting firmware updates. Not that I want them to stop but it just means that they are not even close after over a year of trying to get this right. My XS connectivity has been bad/sad since launch day. I have tried everything they told me to including wiping my phone and setting up as new which is an annoying task as I have like 120 apps. I still have to reset my connections at least once a day. Apple really shot themselves in the foot by partnering with Intel just to get a cheaper price and we, the consumers are paying for it.

What a surprise... I returned to my country today, and after having zero issues abroad (read above), turning on data connection/LTE resulted in 4 full bars and no internet on the first try. ...Restart...

it MUST be your carrier...

it MUST be your carrier...

It must be something with software and any carriers which are used by persons who are having issues here... That’s why I asked for Carrier Version, or maybe also Modem FW...

Had this problem on my XR on O2-UK during the 13 beta, DFU'd back to 12.4 and it fixed the issue, then 13 releases and the problem comes back.

My mate however now has that phone on EE and it so far hasnt had any issues.

I now have an iPhone 11 and so far its working well on 13.1.2 with some weird slow downs here and there but not a full drop in service like on the XR, that being said I am now running dual SIM with my personal O2 line as an ESIM and my works EE as the physical.

I did do a full detailed report with full logs back in the 13 beta phase and Apple’s feedback assistant said they were aware with over 10 reports, so it’s bad that this has now made it into multiple iOS 13 releases since.

What we need is a big tech news site or big tech YouTuber to have the issue and kick up a stink then it might actually get fixed.

I reckon it’s network related to be honest.

When I tested my old XR with the works EE SIM card it didn’t do it at all, and the signal meter was responding normally to me moving about, and now my mate has that phone on EE and I keep asking him if it’s ok and he says that he has had no problems and the signal is even better than his old 6.

When I had my O2 SIM card in the phone it was then when I had the LTE freezing, and also on the O2 network I could drive about for ages and the signal would stay on 1bar of LTE without responding to signal changes as you’d expect.

Now my 11 has both an EE and an O2 SIM inside I wonder if the EE sim is keeping the modem alive so the O2 sim doesn’t drop.

To me it seems like when this occurs the modem is going into a power save mode and not recovering until rebooted.

Not dropping per se, but LTE speeds have tanked for me since iOS 13 released. Up until 13.1 beta 4 I did not have any issue with data speeds.

A lot of iPhone 11 owners in Australia all with different carriers are experiencing the same issue.
I wonder what equipment they are using in the cellular towers?

I know O2 over here uses Ericsson equipment for their network as they had a massive outage recently which made the news, the others use Huawei stuff I think. The outage was caused by a security certificate expiring and it effected quite a few Ericsson based networks across the world.

It seems like something in iOS13 is breaking compatibility with certain networks, as my experiences have shown that not all networks seem to be effected.

Updated to beta 2 - same issue. Carrier Version went to 39, modem FW is also new.

Carrier - LMT (LV).
Tested: TeliaDK - no issues. Do not remember BG operators, but no issues as well.

I face a similar situation. When I'm on wifi and walk away from wifi or if I'm in a dead spot (like elevator or basement), many times LTE doesn't come back (even though the LTE symbol and bars are present) unless I enable then disable airplane mode.

I never had LTE just drop on me though, and never had to reset.

I've had this problem with my iPhone X through allot of 12.x versions and continues with the iPhone 11 Pro Max. It's definately related to deadspot recovery, LTE simply won't come back some times. 3G is far more stable for keeping connected.

Still have this issue with both ATT and TMobile on my XS ( iOS 13.1.2 )

Tested my TMobile sim in the Note 9 for 2 days and zero issues!
