No. If I had done that I would have lost 100’s of dollars over the last decade.

Just take’s one incident…

did you read my reply to his post? I did the math and with over 11 years of owning macbooks id still come out paying less if i had bought 11 years of applecare than i did for this single repair.

IMO applecare is worth it..i wouldnt have said this a week ago.

And did you read my post?

Its an insurance and/or lottery. You can’t use anecdotes like mine or others for anything. On average apple will win. Just like the house always wins. For some users it’s a waste of money while others will benefit.

What you should ask when deciding on getting apple care or not is if you can afford to buy a new laptop tomorrow if you’re unlucky.

But saying always get apple care is irrational and will only guarantee that a lot of people will loose their money for nothing.

Did I say ALWAYS get Applecare?

No, I merely pointed to the OP’s post is all.

Please post the video.

I would be like son I love you but Daddy says no drinking anything near Daddy's laptop. No soup or Mac and Cheese either, lol.

I agree with another poster you need to put your laptop on a desk high enough sippy cups can't reach.

Kids, what are you going to do?

My son left his laptop on our couch. It was one of those couches that had a reclining electric seat with a footrest. He was playing under the footrest while it was up and left his laptop. My wife got in the seat and put the seat down and my son was telling her to stop as we heard the crunching sound of broken electronics. She destroyed the laptop by electric couch. Lol.

I should say kids and ex wives what are you going to do. Lol. She blamed him and didn't listen to him when he was telling her to stop-ignoring him thinking he just wanted the seat up to play or something. Even when we could all hear the crunching sound she didn't let up on the button. Lol. We were all living g together at that time.

I was the one who had to pay for the mistake as I had to get him a new laptop. It was a PC, no accidental insurance.

At least Apple Care helps in these situations.

Actually, I think you did learn your lesson. You got AppleCare! I think he’s definitely going to be a product tester when he grows up 😂

Time to make a KidCare+ claim and exchange for a new one ;)

Two lessons you learned from this. One that you fixed the other one you did not in that you got AppleCare plus but you left your system where a child can find it and do his thing. What I would’ve done is purchase AppleCare and place my system away from any child’s eyes.
