Naked, but with the window shades tastefully drawn most of the way.

Seriously, I used to go caseless and I much prefer it, but two things happened:

--The iPhone 5 series came out and I found it a little uncomfortable to hold, so I got a case to help with that.
--The camera bump came into existence and I would be driven CRAZY by the wobble, so I had to mitigate that. So I think it'll be a case forever now, though not my preference.

I actually just recently got my first specific-purpose case. I have a 13 mini, and I purchased a Sandmarc telephoto lens to use with it. Though the Sandmarc does come with a clip you can use to attach the lens over any case, I find the results are much better when I use the Sandmarc case designed to accept the lens. So when I anticipate using the lens, I switch my soft leather case for the Sandmarc.

(I also note that when I try to type "caseless", Safari wants to substitute "careless".)

Love the “naked” look and wish it would work for me. I’m too ocd and don’t want scratches or to worry about accidental drops. Always used a case and a screen protector since iPhone 1. I do use clear protectors as I love the look of the phone. I’m envious of the folks who go “naked” and have good luck.

I have never used a screen protector and never will.

I have never gone without a case and never will.

Back in the day I used big protective cases when phones were small but as phones got larger, I wanted a thinner case.

I now use Otterbox Symmetry and it has been a great case, pretty minimalistic and provides great protection.

I did order the Otterbox Lumen from Apple but it looks like the Symmetry just a clear case version.

It’s not often but my phones do get dropped!

Cadaube Veil case + anti-glare screen protector for years on each phone but about 6 months ago decided to go naked on my 13P and have loved it. If you have really dry hands it can get slippery but otherwise, it's the way to go.

I’ve considered going ceaseless now and then but always chicken out. I always get Apple care+ But I guess I’m more concerned with the small scratches and scuffs which apple care+ isn’t really for.

I wonder if trying a bumper might be a good middle ground?

Did you ever drop the phone when you used the Veil? I like this case, but I wish it came in a clear version.

I would like just some sort of edge protection, with everything else open — would this be considered a bumper?

Always had a case but this year I entered into the upgrade program and have AppleCare so may go naked? Otherwise frameless case or a thin case like a peel type.

iPhone Nude beaches— I take my phones out of their cases at the beach ever since water resistance was built into them. Before that I’d use a case that looked like a ziplock bag. If you drop it caseless on the sand, there’s never been any damage in my experience, just shake the sand off. The wind sometimes blows sand into the air, too. Sand is just going to get on your phone somehow. With a case on, fine grit sand will get into crevices of the phone and do damage when you try to remove the case.

The rest of the time I use a case. At home in my carpeted bedroom I sometimes admire phones without the case on. I clean and inspect and admire them regularly.

Small phones like my SE 2022 and my 12 mini occasionally get to go out and about with no case. It’s easier for me to hold them and to protect them.

Definitely a case. I’m that person that needs the AC+ Replacements. Leaving it on top of the car & whoosh it disappeared into traffic getting smashed, losing it while kayaking and it was on a line too, stolen at a bar in savannah - I immediately bricked it, totally smashed when I dropped it on concrete - phone was wearing a otterbox symmetry case, I’m just rough with my stuff.
You might want to also consider an Watch Ultra 😉

I've owned almost every iPhone Apple has ever made, and I've never put a case on any of them. No cracked screens, no broken phones, and yes, I have a kid.

It really isn't that hard to keep your phone in great shape.

Smashed my 12PM and covered it with a leather Apple case. Was pretty bulky but got used to it fast and it was comfortable.

That said, you're right that naked feels better so no I just have Apple Care paid monthly and the anxiety quickly fades when you know your mistake can be fixed with £30 and a 30 minute drive.
DynamicSausage, Apple stole part of your screen name for its new feature! Also, it looks like a tabby cat and a Shiba inu are having a conversation here. I am amused.

It is if you’re a klutz like me. You have a kid but do you have pets like a rambunctious dog or a cat? My dog, rest her soul, was a tall girl who used to knock things out of my hands with her nose. Cats…there’s much to be said about cats and technology. sigh.

I am a very careful person and value the things that I buy, so when I handle my phone I handle it with intent to grip it properly - if that makes sense. I drop my phone maybe once a year, because people tell me I am human. I just recently went naked with my 12 PM. These phones were designed “to feel good in the hand” (Flossy Carter finish the rest ;)), and you know what? They do. It feels more elegant and slim and the stainless steel just gives it a premium feel.

That said, I have an 14 PM on oder for 9/16 pickup, Apple leather case (which I may use from time to time) and (as others have said and this is huge) I purchased AppleCare+ for that extra piece of mind in the event I do drop it. It’s an odd thing to see almost everyone with a case on their phones and somewhat liberating to not have one on my phone.

I have typically set my phone face up, but I wonder if AOD will train people to go face down — this would certainly eliminate the wobble issue.

Good grief — you’re like Philippe Petit with an iPhone!
