I did a max because this feels like another underwhelming update and I wanted there to be something that made me realize I had a new phone beyond better battery life and better processing.

I'm going from an iPhone 13 to an iPhone 14 Pro Max. I typically don't do Pro Max as it's huge and doesn't fit in my pants pockets but I carry a handbag with me 90% of the time and that other 10% I'll just have my husband put it in his pockets lol I need the most battery life I can get and I also think the bigger screen will be nicer for consuming content when I'm away from home and don't have my iPad with me.

I'm a runner that sometimes runs with my phone, and I also don't carry big purses. I was tempted to give the PM a try, but the size and weight steered me back to the Pro, which is what I have currently from the iPhone 12 line.

I always went for the Pro Max because I like the big screen… except for last year, I got the 13 Pro. I wanted something smaller for portability and using one handed. I’m going back to the Pro Max this year. For me, I figured out that I prefer the bigger screen and it’s worth the trade offs.

14 Pro because I went in store to test out a Pro Max and was reminded why I shouldn’t buy it. It’s uncomfortable and a strain just for me to try to reach across the screen to swipe to go back. My thumb almost doesn’t reach over there, and my hands aren’t even small.

My hand got fatigued just after two minutes of use. The finger gymnastics that are needed to handle the phone are nuts. And that’s a bare naked Pro Max! Imagine how much worse it’d be with a case on.

And then with Dynamic Island, that island is very far away from the one-handed reachable area of the device. Granted, it’s not reachable on the Pro either, but it’s much farther away on the Max.

Not to mention, the Pro Max just isn’t discreet at all. I don’t see how you could ever use that in public without people around you being able to look at what you’re doing on your phone while you use it. AND it’ll have a harder time fitting in your pockets and will be pulling your pants/shorts down more.

I wanted the Pro Max for the bigger screen and battery, but it’s really not worth handling such a large device everyday.

This was my exact thought process last year when I went back to the Pro from the Pro Max. I’m going back the Pro Max this year

I prefer the smaller one. It’s annoyingly heavy enough in my pocket sometimes. I wouldn’t want it any bigger. But the better battery and larger screen would be nice too.

Just secured a 14 pro max pre order. Coming from a 12 pro.

I test drove a 12 pro max vs. 12 pro when they were released and went with the 12 pro fearing that I would get tired of the weight and size over time.

However, when using the 12 pro max I enjoyed the extra real estate and battery life. So this time around we get just a bit more screen, battery etc. so I will stick with the max and get a thin as possible case for it.

Over the past few years I’ve used all the sizes apple had available - 11 pro being a favorite then xs max, 12 pro max, mini, 13 pro max

I find I can get adjusted to and use any of them tbh but the last device that felt one handed and comfortable was the 11 pro and they don’t make that size anymore

For this year I’m going with the max again. Beyond battery life the screen comes in handy for photo taking and editing plus watching social media and YouTube videos during downtime at work. I also appreciated with the 13PM not having to be concerned with topping up during the day. There are downsides with the larger size but I find I get adjusted to it and then just live with the phone

12 pro to 14 pro max

Looking forward to battery improvements the bigger screen for watching YouTube (I don’t really watch movies on my phone but I YouTube a lot) and that bigger size with 120hz

We’ll see how it goes. Different size makes it more novel I had XR before 12 pro too so been on a 6.1 track for a while

But I had a few plus phones before the new X style

Some people just like bigger phones. I’ve gotten the “big size” since the first Plus they put out. This year, though, I’m going for the 14 Pro. I just want a smaller phone this time—tired of the extra size and weight on this one (13PM).

Just something to note based on my experience when it comes to weight between the pro and the pro max. To me carrying a pro feels just as heavy if not heavier. I know that sounds weird but I think it’s a subconscious perception thing. The phone feels smaller but still has quite a bit of heft to it.

I had the 12 pro and when I went to the 13 I wanted to try the PM and when I got it I was surprised that it didn’t feel any heavier to me. Been using get 13 PM for a year and every time I pick up and handle my sons 13 pro it seems to feel just as heavy.

Weight distribution and proportionality, your perception probably makes sense!

I got the pro, last time I had a large phone was the 6 plus. Then I got the X and got used to the size and the 14 is just a tiny bit bigger so that’s what I got.

That's why there is an apple watch.

One thing I hate: The screen is too sensitive at the edges which can cause swipes on the PM to have the wrong result.

I'm having the same dilemma. I do not know which one to get coming from my 12 mini. My brother has a 13 PM and its screen and battery always impress but the weight might be a problem to me. This year I also have to consider the price. It's 1469 Euros for Pro vs 1619 Euros for PM (256GB) for us in Italy (sucks). In my head I want to go big since I'm already spending this much. Or buy the Pro and get a battery pack?

I got the Pro Max because I like a big screen. That being said, I guess I didn’t realize just how big the 14 Pro Max will be. At least, I didn’t until I got my Apple leather case for it, which arrived yesterday. My current iPhone 11 Pro Max dropped into it easily. It swims in it. Wow, the 14 Max is quite a bit bigger!

I always go with the biggest phones. My eyesight isn’t what it once was and I generally forget my glasses. Smaller phones are impossible for me to see well.
