See aboveYou won't see dual monitor support on an Air anytime soon. This 'premium' feature is locked behind the MacBook Pro paywall.

99% certain that it has a single SSD module. It's basically the 13-inch MBA, but with a bigger screen + more speakers + bigger battery. Will have to find out from non-sponsored reviews if Apple used single or dual ssd modules for the base 256gb model.
Not without an external dongle, however a very good point, a lot of people just want everything for nothing, or they just like complaining 🤣They can easily run two external displays considering I'm running three 27" 4k displays with my 13" M1. This is one of my latest setups. I've been running triple display setups for 10+ years:
I think many will continue to choose the 16 inch just for the psychological idea its the best. I wouldn't be surprised with the next major revision in 2025 or 2026 Apple bumps the 16 to 17 inch just to provide more differentiation between the it and the 15 inch Air.True about typing docs, however the Mini LED is much better for content, which everybody watches and the pro motion better for browsing.
I'm just an average consumer, but I care about the Mini LED, pro motion and the speakers in particular, which is why the Air is not for me
Have u got the 15" air to compare? or are you just guessing?I have the 14". I was responding specifically to the idea the 14" is more portable than the 15", which it really isn't.
Have you actually heard it? and compared to what the 13" air?The sound is impressive!
the only thing i don't like about this macbook is the desing, i liked the wedge shape design more of the old model.
This macbook is the laptop that many have been looking for.
Having the best, means less chance of a compromise with anything.I think many will continue to choose the 16 inch just for the psychological idea its the best. But will it run World of Warcraft?
That caveat is the hesitation of many Windows users who want to try a Mac product.Even then the ARM version of Windows for the M1 chips won't run everything. I agree with many on your comments. The reality is the corporate world is still on Windows and will be for along time.
is hardware is capable for about 10 mins, before throttling and all due to lack of fan.Still don't love that they've crippled it by not allowing dual external displays.
Before you go saying "that's a Pro only feature, the Air is a lightweight non-Pro box", have a look at Apple's marketing page for the Air, literally marketing it with After Effects and "intense workloads".
The hardware is most certainly capable of it...although Vision Pro may make that point entirely moot early next year.
You are doing exactly what my dilemma is. I’m thinking I could manage pretty will with 15” 512 GB and 16 GB. But there would be a couple of concessions (and gains).I'm switching from my 16-inch MBP (M1 Pro) to the 15-inch MBA Base. I know it's a downgrade but I'm over the size (weight) of it. I only browse the internet and watch videos on my computer.
Anything specific needed to get this working or just plug & play? They can easily run two external displays considering I'm running three 27" 4k displays with my 13" M1. This is one of my latest setups. I've been running triple display setups for 10+ years:
No, you just keep going when it throttles. It's not like the how it worked with the Intelbooks where it was immediately apparent.is hardware is capable for about 10 mins, before throttling and all due to lack of fan.
I bought the 15 inch MBA with 16/256. I needed to stay within budget and decided I could compromise on storage by using iCloud and external SSDs. I’ve decided to not rely on swap memory and go with the memory I really need. It’s an unfortunate compromise as 512GB would have made me much happier, but it is what it is.You are doing exactly what my dilemma is. Having to think really hard about this……
And ruin their chances at getting free products from Apple? LolDoes anyone in this cadre ever give Apple products neutral or even bad reviews?

Yeah, the artificial product segmentation has always been strong with Apple and in some cases, when you at least have a credible (more expensive) way to get your desired features in a given form factor (eg iPhone vs iPhone Pro), I can live with it, but this business of disabling features that are obviously completely possible on the hardware without an actual path to get them makes me sad.man…if I were not a sucker for ProMotion (and rather like having 32GB RAM) I would be on this thing. looks like a great product. still jealous that the non-Pro MacBooks get that Midnight color option…
I am not sure that is true: given the thermals of the Intel MBA that did this without a problem are many times worse than the M2, this is not something I'd suspect is the reason unless there is something very, very problematic with the SoC's thermals specific to the M1/M2 MBA that even teardowns are not showing.is hardware is capable for about 10 mins, before throttling and all due to lack of fan.
And likely those 120g are from Apple actually using the proper number of SSD NAND chips to give the best performance in the 14".120 grams heavier 🤣
This is WAY bigger than "free product": it's "don't be negative or say anything AAPL doesn't like or you're risking your living".Tech reviewers don’t get “free products” they have to send them back.
This makes me think ofStill much smaller than some reviewer's 15' Air.
