The issue has gone beyond these enthusiast message boards and blogs. It was the first news item that popped up on my trading application news feed this morning.

My Blue Pro 512GB is also very warm on calls, and the battery is draining significantly. This appears to be my only heat problem so far-- the phone is cool/normal temp for everything else!I don't agree. I have two phones and both are different. My 512GB natural titanium phone does not have the same issue.
Blue titanium is only going crazy when I am on calls. I cannot hold it!
Totally disagree. My 14 pro was definitely warmer while doing the same thingsWhenever there is a problem, we get a host of "but mine is OK" posts. No, they are all affected. People will have varying degrees of noticing, depending on how they use their phones. But the underlying, core issue exists on all of them. There is no "better" batch. Could be hardware. Could be software. Could be both. We don't know for sure yet.

all you people are doing is making annoying YouTubers fill the iPhone video space with them talking about heating phones.
I can sum up my iPhone pro max easily. It's lighter which was an issue for me. The 14 pro max was a brick in my pocket and hurt my hand at times. The battery is the same and thats great as it was a strong point and industry leader. It's thinner and shorter with the same size screen which is nice. It's the first time ive upgraded and noticed the speed increase, and the camera bump is a huge upgrade. These people never learn.
Every year every September these same posts.
It is too big, is it too small, is it a brick, is it weak, is it too hot, is it too loud.
Sometimes I think they are either just gagging for attention, or are spoilt brats with real first world problems, are suckers for click bait, or they are working for Samsung/Huawei.
I'd prefer to get a phone in a "batch" that isn't effected.Could be certain batches of hardware causing the issue or a software bug that is only triggered under certain uses cases.
I’m just about to return this and haven’t even opened it. Reviews said the phone and AirPods get stupidly hot. Also the unit buzzes and you can’t charge both at the same time. What’s your opinion on this?Anker Wireless, PowerWave 2-in-1... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B094FQSGMM?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
This is what I bought for my 15PM to use in standby mode. Highly recommend. Don’t forget usb c block if you don’t have one. I put my phone down around 9:30 pm. Stays charging overnight. Phone stays nice and out on the mag. Doesn’t fall or easily moved. Just enough wiggle.
See reports that if you use their included USB C cable it manages the heat better. I dont see how that is possible but for some reason wouldnt be surprised.
disclosure: reports is ppl on twitter![]()
Mine gets relatively warm whilst on charge. Even it a case I can feel how toasty it's getting.
If A16 models are being affected, then how come we’re not seeing reports of 14 Pro / Pro Maxes overheating? I’m on iOS 17 and I’ve had absolutely no issues with my 14 PM, the battery life has actually improved. This is pure speculation at this point. This would only be true if it were shown that this was a design issue with the A17 that could not be fixed any other way. Given that A16 iPhone 15 models are also affected, and the overheating seems to be somewhat random (though charging does appear to be at least related), it may also be a hung process that could be fixed in software.
I've been using an Amazon cord, with no problems in the car 🤷🏼♂️.See reports that if you use their included USB C cable it manages the heat better. I dont see how that is possible but for some reason wouldnt be surprised.
