I hear ya, it's sad that I can go into my local att corporate and know more about the phones and features than their staff. I found 1 guy who is passionate about his job and is a phone nerd like myself. I don't even deal with anyone else. He kids me and says I should work there, he makes a killing due to the fact he is the only one with the correct answers.
Bummer OP, sucks you had to camp out due to someone's incompetence. When everything calms down a bit you should talk to the manager and let them know what happened, explain that you waited all night because you were misinformed, maybe they'll give you an account credit or free accessory.
If my cousin started a topic about how excited she was for her wedding today without mentioning the likelihood of rain, it would be completely in line with the OP starting a topic about how he could not believe his good fortune. He didn't ask anyone if they thought he going to get screwed (though sadly he did).....No reach.
I don't want to argue with you anymore. I used a poor choice of words, one I use too often clowning with my friends, and it caused offense. I apologize. I thought some people were, and not even necessarily you, doing what happens so much in these forums. They look for a reason to steal someone's thunders. Some do it unintentionally (the ones I didn't call out), some out of an apparent jealousy, and some just because they troll (and I find trolls to be dbags.....bad word or not). I feel like you came out of the gate thinking I was referring to you as the latter when I never once was. And once I felt attacked, that is the mode I switched into.
I hope everyone gets the phone they want. This is an exciting time for many of us enthusiasts. Heck I have a shiny new plus coming today and I don't even know if I made the right choice on size. But I am excited none the less. I am sorry for offending you, or others, in any way. I just wanted the OP to revel in the apparent state of euphoria he was currently in.
