I've had fun reading your progress reports, Scott. Enjoy your new iPad! I'm sticking with my WiFi only, but I LOOOOVVVVE IT.

I showed up at 5:10pm and walked out at 5:30pm with an iPad.

But to those of you who waited 6+ hours... Congrats?

At the store I hit, that wouldn't have happened. I wish I lived in podunk, USA like you then I could have done it myself. I was out by 5:05, and can now take my little girl to her daddy/daughter dance which is why I was in a damn hurry. I guarantee the people who showed up any later than 2 or 3pm are still waiting there.

And why is he a jerk? Because he does not understand all this Apple new product release hoopla? Most people don't. Can you explain the reasoning behind the decision to wait many hours in line instead of, say, ordering it by mail?

And, not to mention, it's an Apple forum with people who like Apple stuff way more than the average person... what do you expect?
 
The Apple store in the Galleria opened their doors about 10 mins early. Took 5 mins to make my purchase and was out of the store by 4:55pm.

Now waiting for the iPhone 4g line to start. lol

Similar story for me on the 3rd --- had Easter Egg hunt's in the afternoon so knew I need to get there early enough to get out by Noon. Got there around 7:AM and was the first in the reserved line -- I could have arrived at 9 - and still been out in plenty of time. Sounds like your store had a longer line for 3G's than mine did for release day ipad's --
