Yosemite with Clover on a real unsupported Mac

These days i'm looking and trying every guide for installing Yosemite on a real unsupported Mac, but nothing seem to work...

I tried even with Clover (the EFI version i think...) but nothing...

Is there someone who managed to use Clover for installing Yosemite on a real unsupported Mac?

I really can't understand if it's possibile and how to set Clover in the right way...

Thanks to whom will be able to give me the right information :)
(if someone there is... :( )

Noticed something today... I cannot seem to install DP2. I don't know if it the way I have things setup or not but I have tried both the AppStore and a stand-alone installer. The AppStore complains that it couldn't install it upon reboot and the stand-alone installer just reboot and does nothing. The update starts fine and looks like it goes through the process of installing it (when it ask you to restart and the installer progress shows up before it actually reboots.) When I check the build number of the OS though it is still the DP1 build.

Hmm.....

I used your method and the AppStore update to DP2 worked for me. I am a paid developer so I don't know if that makes a difference.

The only problem I am having is I cannot sign into iMessages. I was having issues with audio, but removing the new DSDT resolved that problem.

I got it to install by creating a new user. I think it might be related to the fact that I setup my main user to use iCloud to login instead of a normal user account. When I created the new user I set it up with a normal user login and DP2 installed fine.

Your issue with iMessage, booting my Yosemite install once with Clover did fix that and it works fine now with Chameleon.

Has anyone put one of these in their Mac Pro 1,1:

SAPPHIRE HD 7950 3GB GDDR5 MAC Edition

There wouldn't be any justification in doing so. The bus speed would bottleneck the living daylight out of it.

I updated to DP2 through the App Store without an issue - just reinstalled Chameleon and I was good to go.

I am on DP3. Just odd thing is all my iMessage devices are going mad asking me to keep logging in.

It has signed out non 10.10 and iOS 8 devices

iMessage and iCloud have done the thing where they ask me to login a lot on boot. And, they have also done something weird where I would get a notification on my iPhone that my iPad is not using me email addresses and phone numbers for iMessage and Facetime like it had never been setup before.

So where did you install Clover? On its own little partition? Or on top of your Yosemite partition? What steps did you use?

I had another spare hdd so I installed it on there in its own partition. I didn't touch my existing chameleon/Yosemite setup. I followed the steps from earlier in this thread and used that config file. I'll try to find the post.

It's post #108

Updating to 10.9.4 killed my iMessage. I will have to try booting with Clover again to see if that fixes it. Also, going to try Chameleon r2391

I have tried both of the newer Chameleon releases; first r2390 and it would not boot DP2 and then earlier this morning I tried r2391 on DP3 and again that was a "no go". And to add, my attempts were inclusive of every combination I could think of when trying both of those updated Chameleon versions. Only the initial/official r2380 Chameleon continues to boot my OS X 10.10 DP3 drive.

I personally find these results both perplexing and disconcerting due to the fact that when one considers both mountain lion and mavericks, once a version of Chameleon booted either of these OS systems, any version that came out afterward did the same without any issue. It concerns me that I am experiencing a regression with Chameleon updates as Yosemite updates are released.

Conversely, Clover and its updates continue to boot any OS X 10.10 version I have ever attempted. Clover v2k_r2747 even loads AppleHDA audio with no tweaking required (the only caveat being that there is no volume slider in Finder). If I could get it to recognize my OSDD ports and my Blu ray Optical drive, I would seriously consider using it permanently.

Yea it was a no go for me too with r2391. Reverted back to r2380 and everything works fine. I would also consider Clover but since I too have a blu-ray drive it is a no go for me until that works. Using clover did fix iMessage again.

Did you setup your account as an iCloud login?

Nope, just a normal account, but i signed in the setup when it asked about iTunes and iCloud.

Ok, I had the same issue when trying to update to DP2 and was able to get it to update by creating a new user temporarily and using that user account to update via the AppStore. I had figured it wasn't working right since my main user account was setup to use iCloud login and the new user I created was a normal user account. After DP2 successfully installed I deleted the new user and changed my main account to a normal login account. DP3 installed fine via the AppStore on my main account using the normal login.

Just incase you aren't quite sure what I mean when I say iCloud login, when you setup your user account right after installing Yosemite there is an option to use your iCloud credentials to login to your computer. Or, you can use the old way where your login/admin password is independent of your iCloud account and password.

Tried to make a new account and it worked, Thanks!!!

one thing i find weird is that the menu bar has no icons on the right side after clean install or a new user. what i mean is the wifi, bluetooth, clock, time machine etc.
