Please add a signature to your account with our hardware. The please tell me which (possible ancient) version of OC you are using. Complete information is great, really great! At last check FAQ->Q18 of the CatalinaLoader/OpenCore post. Sound fixes are working only on the target hardware and are only usable for Windows. We had at first only a 27" DSDT patch, now there are two. But disable them if you are not using Windows.
I'm using OC -> New Catalina Loader based on OpenCore 0.6.5 I will test now

I don’t understand very well about DRM on Nvidia cards.
It’s not posible to watch Netflix/D+ on safari, no?

SD adapters arrived and are a perfect fit! Stick out approx 1mm, just enough to remove it if necessary.

Installed the lastest EFI from @Ausdauersportler 's Catalina Loader post
- I don't have the Sleep Kexts to select anymore so sleep doesn't work :(
- Dim blacklight it's fixed and working :)

Enter ioreg -l | grep board-id in terminal and post result. You need an NVIDIA config file.

Which sleep kext to select where?
Mac-942B59F58194171B

Before I update the EFI folder with the latest one from your post I had these kexts on the Configurator which I had to select to get Sleep working, but brightness was dim.
- AppleIntelHD3000Graphics.kext
- AppleIntelSNBGraphicsFB.kext

Now that I update the EFI folder I get brightness working but the Sleep kexts is missing for me to select and the slepp isn't working.

Okay, you mixed a broken very old OpenCore setup and a broken not so old Big Sur Patcher (broken for 2011 iMacs) and got a working iMac 2011. This is nearly a miracle.

Please compress the old EFI folder and load up and please make a screen shot of /System/Library/Extensions of Big Sur sorted by date - I need to see which files have been patched into you system.

To solve your current sleep problem just pick the AppleBacklightFixup.kext from the new and copy into the old (sleeping) OC config and use the old one for now.

I advice to use another patcher to come back on track.

I will try now thanks for the help... :D

update: Same thing: dimmed.
Now I remember that by disabling the AppleBacklightFixup.kext it only disabled the Hud and Hotkeys, but I think it was working on Control Panel

Can you please copy out of /System/Library/Extensions of Big Sur both the AppleIntelSNBGraphicsFB.kext and AppleIntelHD3000Graphics.kext and compress and upload them, too.

You have both installed by the patcher and have to use another older one via OpenCore injection.
Thanks in advance

I have sleep without OC, the only thing I don't have is brightness control

Well... OC did not display with my M4000M. It also seems like it did not boot from the sd card at all. After booting into windows the audio was showing as disabled (when I could see over TeamViewer), even TeamViewer showed black screen with a cursor most of the time. I may have to go back to a single windows install :(

Guys I just upgraded my iMac 27 2010 to an nvidia k4100m. The installation process was good. However when I turn on the iMac I hear the boot chime and the fans come on and sound normal however their is a black screen (no video). I know there is no bios with the new gpubut the screen lasts for longer than expected. Is this normal? Any feedback would be appreciated thanks.

That problem happens with the stock card too when you install UEFI Windows 10 rather than legacy using the DVD drive.

You need to boot into Safe mode in Windows to uninstall the Intel HD Graphics Driver in Device Manager.

If you can get to the login screen, hold down shift whilst selecting restart from the power menu.

You may also need to disable a Microsoft update to install a driver for the Intel HD Graphics.
I finally got time to work on this project again and found something interesting.

When I boot up the fresh installed Windows drive without internet connection.

The Hardware ID of Windows Basic Adaptor is 10de, which is Nvidia instead of intel.

I knew I should go for 8086(Intel) but I decided to give it a try as an experiment and proceed to disable it anyway.

Surprisingly, after Ethernet cable connected, Windows automatically installed Nvidia driver and totally ignored HD graphics.

Now Windows 10 is working on my iMac 2011 27 without BSOD.

The only problem remains is internal audio card, time to work on Opencore next:D

1. Safari / Preferences / Advanced / Show develop menu
2. Go to Netflix
3. Develop / User Agent / Microsoft Edge
4. Netflix works in Safari :)

You can setup a keyboard shortcut to open Netflix and change the user agent, so you don't have to manually select it each time. Maybe you could ask the developer of Friendly Streaming to add a feature to set user agent manually in the app, its not that complicated to implement i believe.

This almost works for me in Safari 14 on Mojave - the (annoying) trailers in the main Netflix menu start playing, which they don't with Safari as the User Agent, so something is obviously working better - but then I get this message telling me to turn on Protected Media Playback, which obviously I can't because I'm not actually using Edge. Did you encounter this or find a way round it?

Tried Firefox + Chrome as user agents too but Edge seems to get the closest to playing it.

I just quickly played around with the user agent settings to see if the video starts playing or not. I will check for a better solution.

Edit: looks like DRM protected content does not work. Yesterday i tried it with some random movie and that played fine with different user agent, but looks like most of the content is protected.

Hi all!

I did something evil, binary patched a Big Sur GUI patcher to include the Big Sur iMac micropatcher to get a (hopefully) completely command line free installation of Big Sur. I need volunteers to test it:

Have fun and report back.

Notes:
1. create a separate partition on your iMac for Big Sur test installation or use an external USB device
2. opencore will be installed on the Big Sur USB installer! No need to have a separate SD card.

Damn thanks for making this! I just tested it out and feel like I must be missing something fundamental (like the installation of OpenCore, does this not do everything involved with that?)

I made a bootable USB using the tool, Installed Big Sur on a fresh APFS partition, went through the installation, rebooted into the USB to do the post install patches and then rebooted into the Big Sur partition.

Now it won't get past about 10% on the Apple logo boot screen.

I'm trying to dual boot with a Mojave installation that's still using MacOS Journalled - I wonder if that might be causing an issue? I ran into the same problem when trying to install using your command line patcher, followed the step-by-step instructions twice to no avail.

Again thanks for putting the GUI tool together, I'm sure its something wrong I'm doing on my end!

I am not sure if the Mojave HFS partition affects in any aspect the Big Sur booting.

You should boot in any case the EFI partition of the patcher USB (this is your new boot selector for Big Sur) before booting into the Big Sur partition. You need to do this with the installation at first and with the installed Big Sur later. There is no way around this.

The OC was simply a choice to keep it simple - 90% of the possible config need OC today. Possibly I will work in the auto detection to get around this for the 10% remaining.

Disregard my previous comment, I didn’t have the gpu slotted in the correct way. I’ve upgraded the iMac 2010 to 32 go ram and a quad core i7 cpu so it booted up in five or so seconds. Really no need for a custom bios but will stilll loook into it regardless.

2011 27" successfully booting in High Sierra using a Dell K4100m. Successfully flashed via ssh. temps running a little warm at idle, but probably my fault for being lazy and using k5pro on the heatsink. some Kryonaut will arriving tomorrow.

Windows reads my gpu die temp correctly. I'll post back to tell the delta T between the die and heatsink are before and after repaste. Then we can see a practical difference.

Big thanks to Nikey22, Xanderon, Tom V, and everyone else who are doing the hard work to keep these machines alive.

OK- please continue the much more interesting discussion on Big Sur :)

merci nikey22 & Ausdauersportler pour vos conseils et messages. Longue vie au forum.

Hi, there is currently a semiconductor shortage!
I wanted to purchase about 200 pieces, but I was unable to do so. 6wks wait time.
Maybe they are available elsewhere, but they will be expensive.

@Onizuka18
When you purchased the K5100M it was supplied with a 1Mbit chip size (PMC Pm25LD010 2.7-3.6V 1024Kx1S)
This is not necessarily a mistake. If the vendor uses this card in a PC laptop without uefi, then the ROM will fit no problem. They don't know that you are intending to use this on a mac.

For our purposes, we always used a minimum of 2Mbit chip size (PMC Pm25LD020)
other alternatives are:
Winbond 25x20CLNIG
Macronix MX25L2006EM1I-12G

You can reference this post <EEPROM Replacement>
For external flashing <<CH341a>
Hello everyone I can flash the chip Pm25LD020 once solder on the gpu or I must first flash it externally? then solder it on the gpu
Peace

I do not understand your question!

Every card flashed here on the thread comes with a BIOS chip soldered on the card and it will be flashed with the chip on card.

Why do you think you have to flash the (new) chip before soldering?
