I reworked the rom to allow it to work in Windows 10 some time ago. The board IDs were incorrect and windows drivers were rejecting it or trying its best to find a match:
View attachment 2232534
As you can see above, this is a problem. It doesn't recognize the card correctly.

After making the proper Device ID modification:-
Finally, Windows 10 will work nicely with its own built-in Crimson 17.Q4.1 video drivers and detects the card as the proper M6100 and not a HD8530 or other sub-variant:

Now, Windows 10 correctly identifies the card and loads the drivers with full accelerators.
Please try the .rom attached and let me know.

Thank you
Thank you for vbios, my m6100 red card from dell works without artifacts, but the performance is weak, there are limitations of 300 mgh for the gpu. Is it possible to fix it somehow?

Thank you, Nguen Duc Hieu, for you reply.
I was hoping for a more detailed step-by-step guide as I am 81 and just starting out on iMacs.
Unfortunalely I don't have the time to learn all the background information - hence my request for Curtis Gross' guide.

Unfortunalely I don't have the time to learn all the background information - hence my request for Curtis Gross' guide.

I can do a walkthrough guideline for you if you let me know the following details. It will be a lengthy guide.

1. Conditions of your iMac: (Fully working with stock GPU? which Mac OS? etc.)
2. What GPU do you plan to upgrade
3. Do you have another computer like a working Windows PC
4. Do you have a Ethernet router? (Wired connection will be easier than wireless)
5. Are you comfortable with disassembling/reassembling your iMac several times?
6. Overall, how well do you navigate around the disk, folder in MS DOS, Linux environment?

If you are not familiar with the above, and have not purchased the GPU yet, I would advice you to purchase a pre-flashed GPU, to save the effort and hassle for both you and me. A pre-flashed GPU cost about the same as original GPU, if you are linked to a shop dealing with specific iMac upgrade parts. (Like Hotechon of Aliexpress)

Thank you, Nguen Duc Hieu, for your kind offer.
I feel it may well be beyond my ability and comprehension, so I will take your advice and look for a pre-flashed card.
If you can take the iMac apart in order to physically replace the card, you could flash the card, in my opinion. Alternatively if you can get a card to me, I could flash it for you, no problem. Feel free to send me a private message on here.

Hello . Please help or guide me.

I have a Dell M6800 laptop.

With this specification

cpu i7 4810mq

gpu k5100m

ram 32gb

500gb ssd

1. Can I use this vbiso? . If so, tell me which version should I install?

2. After flash, can I use Windows in addition to the Mac operating system?

3. Does it cause any problem to run games in Windows?

Please explain to me completely.

thank you

Are you wanting to install macOS onto your m6800? I have personally done this in the past... If so, you do not need to flash the GPU. The purpose of that is for boot screen on a real iMac. This is also the wrong place to ask how to create a hackintosh and you probably will not get very good response.

If you are wanting to pull the k5001m from your m6800, then yes you would need to flash it before installing into an iMac.

Use gibmacOS under windows to create a macOS installer USB. Then you can install directly without internet recovery.

I didn't know this was the wrong place to ask.

Yes, I want to install Mac on my laptop.

But I have the problem of not recognizing the graphics card (k5100m). And in some EFI files, I have the problem of black screen after boot.

Then I searched and found this site.

I hope you have a perfect solution to solve my problem.

Thank you for answering my problem.

Current setup with iMac 11,3 has been working very well in Monterey for a number of months now. I recently decided to upgrade my SSD though (current internal is only 250GB), and so installed Ventura on an external WD 2TB using OC 0.6.7 (and quickly upgraded to 0.6.8 from the other day, including the root patch).

While booted into Ventura, using both OC 0.6.7 and 0.6.8, I get strange video artifacts (random horizontal line segments, almost like static) in Firefox 115.0.x while on 720p or higher resolution. Such videos however play fine if playing a downloaded copy of the video in QuickTime Player or if I set the resolution of the online video player to 480p or lower. This issue is not present in Monterey at all (for me).

I am assuming that this issue is related to the GPU I have since, evidently, support for Kepler GPUs was discontinued starting with Monterey, but I just wanted to verify with people here, and to report my experience. I know that while a patch was figured out for Monterey (hence it working fine), for Ventura it is apparently not as complete/functional. That's at least what I have gleaned from reading over some more recent posts.

Detailed specs in signature below.

EDIT: So 480p works fine as does the abysmal 144p, but not 360p it turns out. I had just assumed previously, but I guess it's always good to check (like when a YouTube video doesn't have a 480p option for some reason...)

Sell the card to iMac 2011 owner and buy an RX480 at cheaper price...

Look what I found here: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/100...!sea!RO!3043645302&curPageLogUid=wQ7UsMwDKGII

"1. Tested machine:

-- iMac 11,1 A1312 27 inch Late 2009

(The machine with "Core 2 Duo" processor is iMac 10,1 and can't work, please don't buy)

-- iMac 11,3 A1312 27 inch Mid 2010

-- iMac 12,2 A1312 27 inch Mid 2011"

Same card (version and serial number) like the one I bought.

Does this card work in my 12.2 with Metal, etc. I'm looking for more gpu memory, I'm currently using an Nvidia quatro k4100 with 4gb ram, but that's not enough for KI Lightroom for noise reduction. 8GB is recommended. i use ventura with ocpl 0.68 it works very well.

My recommend is still the same. RX480 is about the same performance with WX7100, if you can find RX480 at cheaper price, why using the WX7100?

If you already have the WX7100, start assembling it to your iMac and report the result here.

How about rx5500xt? It seems to be better than rx480 and wx7100.

Thanks to this site i have successfully installed nVidia gaming gpu's unfortunately had no brightness control, so i've followed thingsapart esp32 tutorial. Now my brightness is down by at least 60% give or take. I'm planning on using a USB 3 for my iMac 11,3 model. but that involves to replace the wifi card. I did get a wifi USB stick, works flawlessly so it seems, in-soon to be in operations for the USB 3 upgrade i suppose cause why not. My current set ups are i7 870 cpu. x2 8 gb crucial ram sticks. gtx 770m blue model not the green one, esp32 for brightness control. game wise, cd rom drive games (old ones really old ones) steam ect. Runs way better then the stock 512mb gpu/i3. 1 tb silicon power ssd upgrade. I think it's over performance for the iMac. For the i7 870 seems it's in the generation of not using avx, if I go to Intel and look it up by Google it shows i7 880 should work? On the 1156 socket types idk, but it seems no avx support so it seems really irrelevant. I had problems with trying to have programs for my esp32 I.e "system is too old or outdated" pretty much basic message of the lot. I almost just left my imac alone because I had lost hope for brightness control, So I figured if I went this far on the outdated futures then let me see if I can copy one, at least 1 kb random file from my esp32 to my hard drive. the tutorial by thingsapart are kinda hard to follow but he greatfully provide the same files to control brightness. so if any one has the oc loader stuck or frozen forever and full blast fans or have no way to control the brightness I would just get the esp32 for brightness control. Esp32 --> iMac's USB port --> thingsapart instructions+files --> outdated messages from homebrew --> see if you can list file from your esp32 filesystem to show. --> seperate tutorials on copying files to your harddrive as a test --> using put command on adafruit and volla. also I used a angle grinder to cut 115 mm squares right under where the heat sinks are located on the aluminum shell inside to replace the old loud fans with a x2 120 mm quiet fans and just glued them in place, and no cd rom drive. the wires are cut for the 120 mm fans and no control. its basically max 😁. But the Temps are on the very very low sides. Sorry if its abit long but its intended for brightness also factors like new to computing.
