I won't say anything else... Just keep an eye out over the next month.

Let's just say I frequent the office of a very high profile developer.
It might actually turn out to be the case, but for me at least, it's just another unsubstantiated rumor.

For example, think the "New MP's will be out this summer" rumor that began out of a couple of Tweets from Brian Tong, which was unsubstantiated information that turned out to be nothing but hot air.

With no proof i have to say this is fake.

plus the CPUs that would most likely be used are not even out yet.

Can you delete my quote please? I don't want to upset the wrong people.

Just keep an eye out, you will see.

Over the next month? October-November window... well, no harm in being quiet and just waiting to see cause the time will pass soon enough (anyone else feeling like this year is zooming by really quickly? ;) heh)

IF this turns out to be true, I really hope it will not.be a headless imac cpu wise. Many of us here NEED the power of a MP. (and im talking about my 12c 2.93 atm)

Without any further information to even justify the claim, I'd have to agree ATM.

Further information is needed. As it stands there's nothing, not even logical conjecture.

Granted, developers don't get all the pertinent information, but to claim there's a new system (not an LGA2011 based MP under a new name) would mean some hardware specs are needed (iPro could just be a new name, if it's actually solid info). Even if the iPro name is valid, it could be a software suite or even a new device or laptop for all we know...

If you're unwilling to provide such information, it might be wise just to ask a Mod to delete the entire thread. Just a thought...

yeah. I don't exactly understand why you made this thread when all you can say is iPro....

Maybe iAMIMPORTANT?

I suggest to delete the thread.

What I seen was very similar in style to the current Mac Pro however it was very narrow about 50% narrow and I was told it was called an iPro, I'm not sure if the Mac Pro will be done away with, but the way they made it sound this is the replacement. I did not get to see inside or even touch it, it was on top of a desk.

Sounds fishy to me (particularly the circumstances), as Apple doesn't let such hardware out of their facilities (well documented, not conjecture).

If you were in an Apple facility, whomever let you into the room it was kept (which they're known to keep in a high security section = they know who goes in and out & have camera footage of someone with them, called a "ghost" <when more than one person enters on a single security ID>), put their job on the line.

No this was not Apple, this was someone that develops for them and others. Mainly they develop Xbox games.

There's no way an independent software developer would have access to a prototype machine like that. Such systems are kept under extremely tight security on Apple premises.

Even if they're developing applications for it, as those can be developed on another machine, such as a current MP.

I went digging around the USPTO to look for any "interesting" trademarks. Found nothing showing Apple filing for an iPro trademark - not even as a place holder (they own a lot of odd trademarks like TabletMac for example). Based on recent times, Apple either files for a trademark a week or two (e.g. the Macbook Air) to a couple months before the release of a product (e.g. the Mac Pro).

Then this was an extremely convincing fake... I have never seen a case that looked like this thing. The person I got this info from has not been wrong in the past, very close life long friend.

May be true, may not.

I remember recently there was a story here about a completely new addition to the mac line up around this time, or early new year.

The tone of the original post , however, leads me to believe that this is probably garbage.

Almost guaranteed to be fake.

Sure the server model Mac Pro may be slimmed down so it is rack mountable, but IMO the current design of the Mac Pro will remain relatively similar to what it is now.

I have proof !!!

No lie!

Man, what you saw was a Hackintosh with metal case :D

----------

BTW, the term iPro already exists in Apple and refers to a projector.
