I'll get drunk if they dont refresh MacMini today !!!

I wouldn't make statements like that. Considering we haven't seen any solid rumours of the Mini getting updated alongside the iMac, I'd say there's less than a 50% chance that it'll happen. I hope it does get updated though.

No new Mac Mini. Guess we may have to wait another month or two (or possibly even a little more) for the Mini to get an update.

It is a sad day today... Canada's PM Harper is the winner and no Mac mini.... I think I'll get drunk too ... Maybe I will forget!!! :D

nb. It's weird as the new iMac don't have the NEW tag on it as the MBP ans iPad2...!

Since the low iMac cost $1200, the macmini 2011 would be cheaper than it's today.
Am I wrong?

Oooh nooooo....God will not let me switch !!!
may be a sign? )))
Mark to get drunk !

Do Intel even make Core2Duo chips anymore? Where are Apple getting them. Seems silly that the iMacs/MacBooks etc are now on the second generation i3/5 chips and the Mini still has Core2Duo!

MacBookPro's you mean. Common MacBooks, as well as Airs, still use C2D's. I hear Intel plans to produce them until this fall. Airs are reportedly updated in june/july. The prospect of waiting that long.. UGH!

quad core?

Since iMacs are now all quad core, can we be hopeful that the Mac mini might have that option as well? Or are those processors too hot?

Yeah I noticed that but since when is it effective ?? This morning ?

I'm guessing the $700 will have an i5 CPU similar/identical to the low end 13" MPB and the $1000 version will have an i7 similar/identical to the 15" MPB.

With only the iMac being refreshed today, I don't think these will debut until after WWDC when 10.7 is released. Likely a base model for $700 and an upgraded $1000 with hardware similar to the 2010 Mini Server that runs the Lion Client as the server features are rolled in.

Intel will fab any chip you want provided you buy enough of them and they don't have to expend engineering effort to do so. Apple is almost certainly buying in quantities large enough to qualify.

I think it's probably just a logistics issue. It's entirely possible that Tim Cook wants to burn through the existing stock of C2Ds and 320Ms first, before shipping the Sandy Bridge-based minis and white MacBooks.

Ah well.. it's kind of bittersweet to me. I finally just decided to build my own small form factor windows 7 box and ended up with a core i5 2500k 3.3ghz, 500gb sata 6gb hd, 8gb ram with a motherboard with bluetooth and wireless built in for about $500.

I was hoping I wouldn't regret it and I think I'm content with my decision for now because I won't have to fork over an additional $300 to upgrade my PC software to the Mac upgrade and another $100 for the additional software.

Windows 7 is definitely enough of an upgrade that I don't feel like I NEEDED to switch to OSx. Lion has some bells and whistles I'm not drooling over, so I might end up returning to my original plan of just waiting until my monitor dies and my software is so out of date I need to upgrade anyway, and then I'll just buy a 27" imac for the new screen.

Agreed...I think said something similar in this thread (or another) around the SB intro...makes perfect sense. They could very well have a warehouse full of these somewhere that they don't want to lose out on with their current limited/non-existant value.
