Is anyone able to Relay SMS in DP5 using this Trick? I am on a MBP 2011 with a CAX card. Handoff is enabled in System Preferences -> General but my SMS does not get sent out via my Mac.

There is NOTHING to do with the Airport and SMS and calls. In order to do so your iPhone has to be on the iOS 8 and enable the options in "Settings" just like enabling the Mac to send and receive iMessages and to make and pick up FaceTime calls.

I have Handoff working on my Late 2011 17" MacBook Pro with DP5 and the CAX card. I just can't figure out why calls aren't going through to it. I found out how to send SMS through the messages app (macbook has to be connected through the same WiFi network as the iPhone or tethered through its connection). I'm not sure if thats how its supposed to work but if anyone knows a way or method on how to getting working please let me know.

I bought my Airport card from here:

Can anybody confirm that replacing the AirPort card only works with the Mac that has a LMP version equal to or higher than 0x6? It shows on system report - bluetooth.

I think so too...
I ordered a AirPort card (CAX) but bluetooth is not working (think the card is broken)
So I ordered a new one. Hope the new one will work.

I have the same problem. Please report back after you install the new one.

BTW, which seller did you get the "broken" AirPort card from and who is the new one?

I will...

I ordered both at ebay... the broken one from novoshopping
The first shipment was a wrong card (AX) but they send me a new (CAX) and the new one was broken :(

Now I ordered from ibyqparts... hope this is the better reseller

My new unit arrived today. I installed it. The bluetooth and the WIFI works fine. I enable the handoff option in the setting and on the iOS 8. However, my iPhone is not able to connect the bluetooth to the Mac. AirDrop and hotspot sharing work fine though. That's weird.

Not sure if this has been asked before, but is the lack of Handoff support on my 2011 MacBook Air what is causing the "instant hotspot" feature or what ever it's proper name is from working?

I know it was a feature that was announced but I'm not sure if either 1) my Mac doesn't support it, 2) it's not available in public beta 1 (Yes I am on iOS 8.0), or 3) I simply don't know where the option is.

usb dongle

Hey guys i was just wondering, anyone who made the kext hacking magic, would there be a way to adjust it, so that it took the usb bt4? Or there is no way? I got the 4cax,,,handoff works like charm, anyway my wifi is screwed up...tx rate goes down to like 7mbps..when i put the original board in it is rock solidnon 450mbps...so i had to revert to the original...4cax looks to be sold out everywhere...so my only shot is using original board + bt4 dongle, or 4cax + some wifi dongle :( any idea appreciated! Thanks

another defect item from ovolink here. it's 4cax as stated but after i installed it, there is no working wifi or bt, nothing under system profiler too. i don't think i've done anything wrong because switched back to my old card and everything works like a charm.

i contacted the seller but i'm not expecting anything good from him. so, don't buy from ovolink.

Does resetting your PRAM undo the terminal commands and make the handoff/continuity not work anymore?
Reason why I ask is I did it the other day and when I went to airdrop a file to my phone I noticed that it was only showing compatibility with older macs. I re-did the steps mentioned and then everything started working again. Anyone else have this happen to them?

I would assume that it does, yes. AFAIK resetting the pram clears all nvram variables so they would get rid of kext-dev-mode. If you want it to stick when you clear the pram you would have to add it to the boot arguments in com.apple.boot.plist.

Hi,

i have a little problem.
I have a MacBook Pro 2011 early 15" and i had replace the correct CAX Card.
Wifi is working. Bluetooth too. i can connect my iPhone over Bluetooth for mobile hotspot.

My Problem is, that Airdrop does not work. The MacBook found my iPhone and iPad, but the devices are grey (i can not select one of them).
When i will send from iPhone to another device, it allways finds my iPad. The Macbook will not be found.

Second problem is that handoff will not work. I can activate and deactivate the handoff on system setup.

Why does Airdrop and Handoff not work? I had Yosemite Public Beta installed.
On iPhone and iPad the actually iOS8 Beta.

I need help please. i have a kext file from a german user. Is this my problem, that i had a wrong kext? But Handoff can be activat in menu but does not work:-(

So please help me.

regards Dandy

not working using patched dp 5 still have phone calls but airdrop resorts to older macs

It is kind of working for me. Airdrop seems to function like normal but I'm not getting the icons to show up for handoff on either my iPhone or Mac. Previously, everything seemed to work fine.

Looks like another m4360 driver update in DP6 (900.18.3), so here's the updated edited kext if you don't feel like hex editing today:

https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/3677670/IO80211Family.DP6.zip

EDIT: Interesting. I'm using the new hex-edited version of the DP6 kext and the everything looks OK, yet no handoff between my MBP and my iPhone. Either my system is being a pain, or another block may have been put up.

Anyone else have success in DP6 with the latest kext (not the DP5 or previous ones)?
