Yes, I plan to upgrade my iPad Pro 11” WiFi for a 2021 iPad Pro 11” WiFi/Cellular. I wanted to get a cellular iPad, but was not interested in the 2020 refresh. The 2021 is enough for an upgrade.
I did; I seriously considered it, however with the certainty unknown (only assumed/speculated at this point) of software being able to utilize 16GB, I didn't think the difference justified the cost. $1199 (256GB wifi) versus $1799 (1TB wifi) = $600 dollar + tax difference. 8GB RAM is already double what my 2018 iPP has.s anyone considering getting the 1TB for the 16GB RAM? Would this future proof for a couple of years?
Yes. If you have AppleCare get it fixed first because they do not care if you have AppleCare.Beware of trade ins with Apple. They use a scummy third party company. Best to sell your iPad on ebay.
If I had a 2018 or 2020, I wouldn’t consider upgrading either, not with my usage. I can see some doing it, but their usage is different than mine, I suspect.I have the iPad 12.9 4th generation and feel no desire to upgrade. Does everything I need it to do. I have zero FOMO with it.

I have the same, except I have the white spot that seems to be an issue with this size (not to mention the front camera is damaged, thanks to my running over my computer bag a couple of years ago with the iPad in the side pocket). I‘ve wanted a 12.9” for awhile and was waiting for the 12.9 gen 4 successor to come out. I’ve been pretty indecisive at what to move to, considering that I plan to keep it for five years. As rui no onna has pointed out to me, it’s hard to update to what is virtually three-year-old tech with several years of usage in view. If I already had a 12.9” of any iteration, I’m not sure that I would lay out the money for the latest.I have a 2017 256GB 10.5" Ipad Pro, and even I do not see a good reason to update.
The big draw with the new 12.9” is the new display. That’s why I think an upgrade from a 2017 12.9 to a 2021 makes more sense than a 2017 10.5 to a 2021 11.I have the same, except I have the white spot that seems to be an issue with this size (not to mention the front camera is damaged, thanks to my running over my computer bag a couple of years ago with the iPad in the side pocket).
