Awesome! I will do exactly the same with mine later this week, my friend did not want to change these things :)

I know it isn't the i9, but on my base config 2.2 I was able to get a CB score of 1075 with the Power Level set to 55W in Volta.

If I ran it repeatedly, it would no doubt start throttling at some point though.

I used the Volta to set the limit at 55W with the i9 and I got 1050cb. This is just crazy, if things do not change then everyone should just get the 2.2 config and set the limit to 55W. No reason to waste $400 and get worse performance.

But if you for about 5 minutes. What happens then?

That is true. If it’s not faster under load. Then the 2.2 is the better choise. Or the 2.6. Only 100 dollars between them.

I already mentioned it would start throttling. It starts in the 3rd CB test (if I literally start the next one immediately after the first finishes and so on).

The only power level I could set it to without it throttling at all would be 38W on Volta. And then the CB scores go down to the mid 900's. Even at 45W it eventually thermal throttles (but it does take like 10+ tests in a row to occur).

Sorry, I misunderstood. But that is good results only with changing the W.

If the undervolting gets on later on and that thing with full speed the first seconds and then it will be less W it would be very good.

Redid the testing post-patch with different power limits.

I think factory defaults are A-OK now unless you know you're about to be pegging it for an extended duration. Even then... it's a wash.

How do you guys enable Volta on Catalina and 2017-2019 Macbooks?
I have installed Volta, typed in csrutil ebable --without kext but the buttons are still grey :(

That's because it needs to be disabled, what you posted would keep it enabled or re-enable it if it was disabled.

I have this working on mine but unfortunately the undervolt portion still doesn't change anything.

Hi, this is wrong.

csrutil enable --without kext will allow you to load unsigned kexts.

Hello all
Sorry for bumping the thread but I have heat issues on my 2019 i9 MacBook Pro.

So what is the latest situation?

Thanks
