Finally!!!

Did I read correctly that the UPS CC lets you pick your phone on the morning of launch day? This is my first time doing this option so that is exciting if the case. I do work Friday morning and not planning on getting it until after work, but tempted to go before work now if it’s available.
Yes, this is correct. As long they are open for the customers they will let you pick it up first thing in the morning.

Not sure if it was the case last year or if this has been brought up already, but doing a hold at local UPS CC now requires either a one-time payment - or a one year subscription to MyChoice Premium for $19.99/yr. Free gets you a pick up at UPS Store or UPS Access Point (both of which usually add an additional day to delivery date).

We opt for the yearly subscription simply because UPS doesnt deliver to our house until 6:00-8:00 PM and the CC is right down the road.
I don’t mind paying the $6 one-time fee tbh. The iPhone is the only package I’d bother having held for pickup each year, and it saves me 12 hours of waiting on UPS to get to my house.

UPS money grab. Other rant, screwing average consumer. A company can ship a package for $5 but will charge us like $30.

I had this dilemma too. I currently have an iPhone 11 Pro Max ( 256 GB) which I have had since 2019. I was only using 88 GB of storage and 50 GB of my iCloud storage ( 200 GB). I do take photos and videos but I have it synced to iCloud so some of my pictures and videos ( 4K) are automatically stored there after I shot them.

I was going to do the 512 but I knew I wasn’t going to use anywhere near that much space. So I stuck with the 256 GB 14 Pro Max. I use my phone mostly for communication ( phone and text), web browsing on the go, social media, video streaming ( Netflix, YouTube etc) and occasional photos and videos. I still use my film gear when I am shooting projects mostly. Though I might shoot more with my 14 pro max just cause the camera is impressive. I will just have some photos and videos be in the cloud.

All that to say, it depends on how you use your phone. If you want to store a lot of photos and video directly on your phone or you store a lot of media ( like songs, movies etc) then the 512 would would be best
i dont store that at all music 22gb I barley use the camera same here I have sony vlog camera for a reason

Correct because once your package gets to your destination scan, they will pull those aside and ou can pick it up. Make sure you get the ready for pick up email from UPS tho.

My options on delivery change were limited in the app and mobile site on my iPhone...I was able to do a CC hold on the desktop website signed in, paid UPS My Choice member.

Yeah…I’ll go online and check as well, but was planning on waiting until it was at least over US airspace first.

My backup plan will work as well, but would love to just be able to pick up at the Lynchburg, VA hub if possible.

It may be just enough for you, if you upgrade annually. Do you have any apps you don’t use and could offload?
i tried but still shows 37GB free I think I cloud don't put my photos in the cloud even though I have it selected.idk if ti sticks to my 256GB or return it for the 512GB and re-do the IUP again.

My phone went from “Arrives Sept 16th” to “Arrives”. Still in preparing to ship. Ordered right at the preorder launch time

If I change my delivery to local UPS Store will that delay delivery?
I don't see an option to have package held at my local UPS CC in the app?
I heard someone may have a upgrade promo code they'd be willing to share? @TheYayAreaLiving 🎗 Hmmmmmm.....😁😁😁
If you change to local UPS Store, there will possibly be a delay, you can still get it on launch day but it's a risk
Try logging to ups.com on your browser whether on your phone or on computer. The option for UPS CC is there on the browser format, may need to scroll down tho.

Lol, No promo code. I begged people for days in here to see if they have a free promo code but no one seems to have it this year :(.

@Shh any luck with the promo code? You owe me dude!!

Where I live the pick up hours are 3pm-5pm only. So make sure you find out there pick up times

This is a great article on the FoxConn iPhone city setup...I wish they would update it, but it shows what it takes to make these things.

Another glimpse at the people side of things

Same. I just changed my delivery to the CC that’s 2 miles away. My deliveries in past years, and in general from UPS don’t happen until the very end of the day. Watching the truck enter, then leave my neighborhood and go back to the hub at the end of the day (it was literally dark) freaked me out last year.
I’ll be in line at 9am!
