Are you going to order the new iPhone 14?

So, question....in anticipation of putting a hold on my iPhone once it leaves Anchorage, to pick it up at a UPS CC - I looked on the map and I have two CC facilities pretty close to my house. How do I know which one to hold it at? I seem to remember @TheYayAreaLiving šŸŽ— said if you pick the CC the iPhone is going to, no delay, otherwise there will be a delay to route it to another CC?

The year I ordered from AT&T they promised Launch Day. That’s why I ordered with them. 10 days -2 weeks later I still hadn’t received my phone from AT&T, so I canceled that order and picked up the phone I wanted at the Apple Store nearly 2 weeks after Launch Day! I always pre-order from Apple now.
So that’s one order. If you think about the logistics involved in the ordering, payment and fulfillment of millions of devices worldwide in just a week there are bound to be breaks in the supply chain. Similar comment I saw earlier about ordering from Best Buy. This year I had both ATT and Apple ready to go. In my case ATT opened orders at 7:55, and I was done by 8:00, Apple didn’t open for me until 8:15. Now my phone is in TX - to deliver on Friday. If you think about it less chance of anything going sideways in this scenario vs shipping a phone from China. Just another POV.

Yeap, Going to be a long week since its kind of big week for Apple- Apple Watch SE, Series 8, iPhone 14, 14 Pro, 14 Pro Max - release on Friday. and Today is the day iOS 16, watchOS 9, tvOS 16, and HomePodOS 16 releases today
Yeah, at least we're one day closer to our phones though!

This is all I see. No tracking #yet. Mine was with the glitched 09/23 delivery by postal service.

I had this same question earlier. @TheYayAreaLiving šŸŽ— answered:

Call UPS and find out which one is the main hub assigned to you without a fee. It’s called a destination hub or destination scan UPS customer care.

I wouldn’t be surprised if there isn’t any movement until tomorrow (by tomorrow I mean late tonight since China is 12-13 hours ahead of the US. ) logistically with the time difference there is still 4 days to still make Friday. :)

I wonder if you order from a carrier like AT&T and Verizon on there website I wonder if the phones are locked to the carrier?

I wonder if the carrier phones on Apple website are locked also- to me I think they are or might not since if the phones can have multiple esim plans then they could be unlocked now from the carriers, but if the phones still had the physical sim card then I think they would be locked

Iā€˜m also doing a store pick up, on the iUP, and I have not been charged yet. I’m thinking we’ll be charged when we pick it up. Kind of like how people who are having theirs delivered are being charged because their phones have been shipped.
Awesome. Thanks so much for letting me know. I feel a lot better now :)

For anyone that is not able to utilize MyChoice to obtain their tracking number and can only obtain the redacted tracking number by searching by reference, I was just able to obtain my full tracking number by chatting with UPS and providing them the reference numbers Apple uses.

Cool.

You all ever been to this Apple Store?

It is my dream to go there one day at 1 am to 5 am. lol
Yes! I love that it’s open 24/7. If I ever need an emergency repair, I usually book with the Fifth Ave location since they have appointments at all hours. It’s great! šŸ˜

Sorry to ask again, but is there anyone in the iUP doing an in-store pickup that has had the taxes charged to their card? I still haven't had any charges on my card, and I'm not sure if it is because I am doing a pickup. My orders seem to be fine and just tell me to pick them up at 8am. The only reason I'm a bit nervous is that the wrong billing address is listed. An Apple rep said this shouldn't affect the orders at all because they were approved.

Not sure if it makes any difference, but my Apple Card is listed under "Financed by Citizens One."
I am doing IUP. My card has not been charged yet. In-store pickup date of Sep 16th.

Wow didn’t know they were open 24/7. This makes me want to visit nyc again. Used to go to nyc once every month for work and I’d be paranoid about going home w out my iPhone bc I needed gps to drive home. I’d be worried i would drop my phone from taking so many food pics lol

Folks! I just tracked down another flight that is up in the air which is scheduled to land in 1 hour to South Korea. UPS 86. I will also track this one for you to see if it gets assigned to China.

At the moment, we are looking out for UPS 92 and UPS 86. If either one of these flights gets assigned to China. It's most likely will be carrying the iPhones 14's. Time is running out in China. Expect to see a departure scan within 24 hours or less. Stay tuned!
