That’s definitely a million dollar view! Looking at the Empire State Building never gets old.
It does if you're Fay Wray. (no humans were harmed in this picture)(and not really Fay Wray).

Like all of you I've done the pre-order for years. I ordered literally within minutes, had 09/16 throughout the entire process and then the email. Nothing in UPS, track by reference etc. I think I am just "that guy" this year. Knowing Apple's history of under promising and overdelivering I am hopeful I will see the phone next week.
Same here!

Did you do the tour that takes you from the sub-basement to the observation deck?
No, I didn't have enough time. I was only in NYC for 72 hours. But I did check out the whole area where the Twin Towers were including the tour of the memorial museum. The whole energy is so different over there. Hopefully, next time I visit NYC. I will definitely check out the observation deck. Do you know why they changed the name from Freedom Tower to One World Trade Center? What do locals call it?

Thank you for posting this. As speculated, we are going through customs clearance. It takes time for them to approve it.
Its interesting details of that last scan vary this is a wave 2 group wonder if the holiday delay affected customs even though its officially in UPS hands? Mine still has the arrival at the hub as last “scan” even in aftership app like below:

If not phone number, then order number minus last two digits (include the W).
Thanks, i did also try that. Still no change this morning with nothing showing up in their system (Apple's side still shows it as prepared for shipping). I double checked my UPS information to make sure everything matches (it is since my recent Apple purchases shipped via UPS, tracked fine). Last time I pre-ordered an iPhone on day 1 and tracked via Mychoice was in 2014 though for the 6 plus (my current phone I purchased well after launch date) so I'm familiar with the logistical snafus that can occur due to sheer volume.

I have a bad feeling regarding my order though given that so many 9/16 deliveries already have their packages scanned into UPS' system already (and that most here already have partial details). Guess I'll see what happens the rest of this week.

So if I request to have the package held at a UPS Customer Center, what time would I be able to get it? Would it delay it further than having it delivered to my home?

I should be in the first or perhaps second wave given that I preordered within the first couple of minutes, however nothing is showing up in MyChoice.

The time your order was confirmed sadly has nothing to do with the order you'll depart from China. It's more about a combination of which model/color/size you ordered.

Please excuse as I have a migraine, but doesn't that say customs in Louisville, KY?
My suspicion is since they are in hands of UPS the real customs clearance with China is done at airport in China but in UPS system it means the customs clearance is all but ready for its arrival in Louisville when it gets there and then it speeds through the “final customs scan”. Probably both US and China customs is all being setup and the center is the Louisville UPS hub

O it wont delay. Once it gets to your destination facility. They pull yours aside and you can pick it up there. Just make sure you get the ready for pick up email from UPS

In the past, I've gotten there right when the CC opens. I've beaten the package to the CC one or two times, but not by much. I did get a scan when the package reached the CC. I guess perhaps I should wait for the scan, but I've never waited too long at the CC for the package.

All of the ones I have checked near me (and even where I won't be) seem to open at 10 a.m. now.

Seems like that gives them plenty of time to sort from the morning systems since trucks are typically loaded and ready to go out before 6 a.m.

Honestly you’re probably still ok. There have been years when my tracking didn’t show up until the night before. Then there’s been years where I have had tracking, almost immediately. Apple knows what they’re doing.

Awesome pic. I was wondering, since you work at Las Vegas Int'l Airport, can't you just walk to the UPS terminal and pick up your phone?

No, she wouldn’t be able to do this.

Until the package is delivered by UPS it isn’t legally her package. It legally belongs to UPS. So she’d be likely trespassing on UPS property in the Airport and stealing it to get it early.

Same reason you’d be charged with theft and other charges if you went onto the UPS truck parked on your block to ”get your package” early. It isn’t yours just yet…
