I think I read today that battery replacements are now $99.

I started using Aftership app, but I don't see the Package Handed over to custom ... message. The timelines look similar to one of my iPhones.

"That good" is entirely subjective... but I've been using them for several years... love them... they are moderately "minimalist", yet have an awesomely grippy texture... and I have never had one show a scrape or scuff.

You mean this one that I sent a screen shot of earlier? Nah it's still in ZZ, mine just shows that it's clearance is in progress. It's not actually in KY. Just the paperwork is electronic. BTW this is Aftership App that I'm using. The UPS app or the website version will remain hidden.

I'm not sure how Aftership for some reason was able to get this info tho.

I just installed the Aftership app and added my UPS tracking info. The app matches what I'm seeing on the UPS website. I'm not sure how this iPhone is already in Louisville when none have left China yet. The tracking in that screenshot doesn't include a departure scan from China or an arrival scan for Alaska.

I'll add that the Aftership is a very nice app so far. lol

How is it skipping the whole bunch of steps? Like going from ZZ to anc to KY? Just an fyi, it's just a clearance in progress status right now. Mine is still sitting in ZZ. Just know that these type are hidden, likely because it's international. Once it's in the stateside, you should see the entire thing on your trackings.

Point being $99 is less than $269 and getting a battery to run below 80% is not going to be easy in 24 months. So that one may get their “free” battery replacement service under Apple Care Plus.

That was only an issue with the 4 GSM. The stainless steel bands on the Verizon iPhone 4 and the 4S were modified to fix that issue.

Like all of you I've done the pre-order for years. I ordered literally within minutes, had 09/16 throughout the entire process and then the email. Nothing in UPS, track by reference etc. I think I am just "that guy" this year. Knowing Apple's history of under promising and overdelivering I am hopeful I will see the phone next week.

I'm giving you a karmic boost to be the first member of the first non-launch day wave (Wave 3 aka Wave: That Guy). Good luck, and I'm sure you'll have a new shiny toy before too long. Let us know when the tracking finally appears......
