Folks, i need a piece of advice on what to do tomorrow.
So my intercom’s on repair and there’s no way the UPS driver can knock on my front door without getting thru the intercom first. Is there anyway I can have the driver ring my number so that I can meet him up at the reception? I will never take the risk of signature release for a thousand-dollar device…
Idk if it depends on the driver…but they’ve told me in the past that they can’t do that.

Random thought for the moment - this thread has actually been surprisingly educational. From the posts in here, I've discovered Austin Mann and his camera review. From that, I've now discovered Halide, a camera app I intend to give a serious test drive to. I've also discovered Aftership - and the comments to not use it - and also Parcel for better insight into deliveries.

There's just so much more here than fanpeople gushing over a cargo plane carrying new phones. It's enlightening.

Opinion: Apple should allow us to preorder our phones and ship them immediately instead of us waiting. I’ve never been so impatient in my life 🤣
Well they do ship immediately....at least the following day (we ordered on Friday, got tracking that weekend).
Apple purposely tells the shipper not to deliver until release day.

I wonder what earlier day (wed? thur?) Apple would trust to guarantee deliveries?

Looked at your page one changes. Info looks good. Only thing I know from my years running a dinosaur web site is that people tend to only read/scan one screen worth of info rather than a long post/screen. For this year love the planes upfront and later but next year I might humbly suggest you might want to have the basic info on what thread is such as not a carrier order thread, what we do here, then basics about tracking, what goes on in china ect up front. After which the details on phones, where to order, and all those images.

UPS usually shows up to the house in the late afternoon.

I'll have to look into the Halide app. Thanks!

Thats correct besides the fun, comradeship lots I learn here each year

This is where a little bit more information from UPS would be useful, such as: "I see your hold in the system, but there won't be anything more detailed until the package gets to the local hub." It's the radio silence that adds to the angst.
Yea it sucks they don’t say anything. But they’re more than happy to take that money out of your account as soon as you click confirm.
