Just because it's not yet noted in the iPhone's itinerary doesn't mean that it won't happen. I think it's noted in an early morning email from UPS reminding you that you requested that they hold it for you. They are kind that way.

Well I saw 9/16 delivery the entire purchase process and then was greeted with 9/28-10/3 after checkout 🤬

I did in-store pickup for the first time since my UPS guy moves extra slowly on release day. I don’t miss the ”stuck in ZZ” anxiety but definitely miss the tracking! Having “Processing“ for a whole week without knowing when it gets to the store isn’t as fun! Congrats to you all for keeping the trend fun vicariously for those of us that have been here in the past.

I've been doing this for at least the last 6 years in a row (before was in-store pickup). Each year it flies into a different airport than the prior year. I posted above, but this chat moves fast. Here are the other SoCal flights coming up:

SDF - > LAX: Flight 2900; 12:58pm PT Departure.
SDF -> BUR: Flight 5514; 12:41pm PT Departure.
SDF -> ONT: Flight 2964; 1:35pm PT Departure.

My heartbreaks have all been with ordering.

Last year I was caught out by the Apple Card debacle, even though I was on the iPhone Upgrade Program and had set everything up before the morning of ordering.

Previous years included my last purchase through AT&T (I'm now on T-Mobile) was canceled with no explanation and no turning back. Orders at that moment were backordered a month when I got the bad news. I ended up getting launch day phone at Best Buy that was not the color or storage I'd have preferred- found out later that they'd tacked on a $50 charge of some sort without mentioning it, but I did get it back when I asked them to price match to Apple's price.

I occasionally get the "we missed you" notifications when i was sitting in the room with an open window to the driveway. Part of why I now go to the CC to pick up my phone.

You will become a professional in no time, this I can assure you. There's a delicate balance between wanting to make sure you are "in the moment" vs wanting to capture the moment, however.

Best of luck with the delivery, becoming a parent is truly a life-changing, amazingly rewarding experience even amongst the 100% guarantee of struggles.

Same boat ("in limbo") with nothing still showing up in UPS' system which makes it difficult to make any delivery changes or if a specific region allows pre-signing, to perform that (pre-signing: Apple seems to leave that up to UPS discretion at the local level).

As I mentioned above, if her phone doesn't show up in UPS' system once you see a lot of others here getting notifications on Thursday, that is probably when you may want to begin the process of checking with Apple.

Got shipping notification this am. Can track it, but cannot make any changes.
