Piastri is very good. It’s his 1st F1 season and he is so fast, he has been given team orders not to attack Norris. And Norris is a very good driver.

Now compare this to Perez ….

I’m pretty surprised by McLaren-Mercedes, it is running pretty well, surprisingly well, after many years with poor performance. Good for them, hopefully they will stay on the fight for the first places going forward.

Interestingly, I’ve read McLaren went back to Mercedes engines a couple of years ago; however, it is now that they are starting to shine again.

Well, that wish list went to crap.
Red Bull is so much better than everyone they appear to have found a loophole (or a way not to get caught cheating). This is compounded by the fact that Verstappen doesn’t suck as a driver, and Perez is a force in his own right.
It looks like we need a separate competition for ‘not RB’ that is competitive.
Alonso is doing much better this year, but I could see being frustrated by RB just being so much faster than the others.
Hamilton is suddenly not a fan of one team dominating the game (where was that idea 3-4 years ago?).
McLaren seems to have found some speed.

WTF is Mclaren doing? Why put Norris on hards?

Luckly for Norris, that Mercedes is so bad, he might still finish 2nd anyway.

New hards over old softs. Agree it seems strange, but who knows how it will play out. Lewis on softs will fancy his chances at the restart.

Great race if you ignore the dominance of Max.

Adrian Newey is the best car designer in the business and the Honda is now a great engine. Add in a talented and aggressive driver and a solid set of strategists, engineers and mechanics supporting said driver and you are going to have dominance.

The McLaren heats its tires very quickly and seems to have higher tire degradation so fresh Hards will probably serve them better over the remaining laps than Softs (especially if they only have used softs available like Hamilton and Verstappen).

George is probably in the best seat since he has fresh Mediums so he should be able to jump Piastri and will probably be able to take Lewis by the Checkered.

On the flip side, I think Sainz is going to be a sitting duck on cold, used Hards. Ferrari strategy strikes again, I fear.

Brilliant race with brilliant results.

Yes, Max won (again), but by less than four seconds and he never had the massive lead he has at previous races. The McLaren was awesome, but I can't help but feel the much cooler track temp helped them with tire management. Still, a 2nd and 4th is wonderful. Nice to see Lewis on the podium - surprised George could not do more on fresh(?) Mediums. And Albon in 8th and Logan 11th. Good job by Sainz holding on to 10th - Ferrari screwed him on the final tire strategy.

Was a good race. If only that RBR wasn’t such a rocket, we could have had an amazing race!

MY TOP 3:
NORRIS
PIASTRI
ALBON

So the Aston Martin upgrades are not so good while the McClaren and Mercedes ones seem to be pretty sound.

On to Hungary………….

The McLaren had plenty of speed even with a higher downforce setting and the Hungaroring is a downforce circuit so fingers crossed.

I think we will see an improvement in Hungary. They are bringing some changes…..

I am hoping that Aston's development hasn't stalled (as in they made huge strides in the off-season, but now in the pressure of competition they are not able to improve as quickly).

Yes. Plenty of power from their AMG PU. Pretty much dispels any notions the AMG is lacking power. Mercedes just needs a new chassis.

I think we will see a noticeable improvement with AMR at Hungary. They seem confident they know what is going on…….

McLaren and Williams both benefited this weekend from Silverstone being a low-downforce circuit it seems. Each of the midfield teams seem to have their unique strengths. It’s just that the RBR cars that excel everywhere this year.

Only just got round to finish watching the race, what a race! McLaren?!?!?! Where did they come from! On HARDS too! It was very telling that Max couldn’t get away on one of the fastest tracks of the season. Let’s hope it’s not a one off and we have RB McLaren Aston Mere Ferrari battle. Even Albion did well and was pushing!

Great race.

I think we knew that though? As the engines are just adaptions of the last couple of years or so? They as you said need a new chassis as they screwed it up, but it’s not as easy to do.
