Yeah, I waited and eventually ordered the case on Sunday because I came to the same realization. I’ll probably buy the Waterfield case as well when it is available. I’m a big case guy.
I doubt you will have trouble finding parking if you have an early pickup time. Millenia was booked by the time I got my Apple Card to work, so I ordered launch day delivery, but then snagged an 8am at Altamonte last week. Never been to that one...
My AVP is currently PTS, but has a delivery date of Feb 13-16. My reader inserts come tomorrow.

I am in awe at the level of obsessiveness here, I type, as I obsessively check my tracking and yes... I am watching the planes take off as well. hahahaha. Mine also just departed KY facility...
My pickup order is still "Processing", but my appointment isn't first thing in the morning. I'm too lazy to drag my butt to the mall early, even for the AVP.
I’m thinking I might trade in my MacBook Air and go all in on the spatial computing revolution. I have an AVP pickup slot tomorrow, does anyone know if I can just walk in there with my MacBook Air under my arm and get the trade in for it added to my AVP order? Or is that something I needed to have arranged ahead of time/selected when I placed my order?

- You’re crazy trying to replace a Mac with an AVP! It won‘t work, it’s too heavy, etc. etc. Or,
- You‘d get way more money for it if you sold it through some other platform so you should do that.

I am close to 3 different airports: LAX, ONT, BUR all of which receives UPS freighter planes.
Will have to wait about 6 hours to see which airport it landed since mine took off KY just 15 minutes ago.
Once the air hub delivers to your local customer counter hub, the tracking gets even more fun - watching the UPS truck on a map move all day!
Mine is not first thing either. I wont make it though as something has come up. Ill pick it up once the other things are settled.
If you do a trade in, since the AVP has been pre-paid, you will most likely get an Apple gift card.
Mine have arrived in my city, so close! But UPS usually delivers late afternoon. So will get to see y'all thoughts first most likely.
My Zeiss inserts are crossing the Grand Canyon and will be over top of my house in 35 minutes lol. Going to be a bit of a nightmare as I had apple intervene and schedule a hold for pickup on them but it's now thrown some funky stuff into limbo on the tracking. Hopefully it doesn't get stuck in a logistics pit of despair for 3 days. Snow at my address would have caused them to weather delay it anyways, so I figure this is my best bet for getting them tomorrow.
