LOL Even Crofty and Craig Slater seem to have come out in support of Max and that George is telling porkies. Blimey if even the British press is getting behind Max on this I would advise George to quickly eat that humble pie and de-escalate. I’m just grabbing some more popcorn whilst my flight is delayed due to the weather.

Didn’t they extend by six more garages? 🤷‍♂️
They did for 2024, to just make enough room for the 11th team. Just. But it’s still significantly tighter than every other pit lane.

Zandvoort has done the absolute bare minimum each year to just scrape by. Which isn’t a criticism - do what you gotta do. But it was clearly not a long term plan for them to host F1 as they’re not building the infrastructure for it.

Croft is trying to save his job. 😉

You seem to be mixing up the circuit and circuit owners vs the F1 promotor. Those are different entities and people. Naturally they have a dependency to make a proposal but this was purely about the cost.

I have no doubt there will be more F1 race tracks pulling out over the next few years saying they can no longer afford to run due to increasing costs.

Shanghai International Circuit will not be one of them, having just signed a five year extension to host the Chinese Grand Prix through 2030.

McLaren easily takes the WCC this weekend. Ferrari is still Ferrari. Quick car or not.

Especially with Charles LeClerc taking a 10 place grid penalty for having to replace his battery pack at the start of FP1.

Oh well, there is always 2025. And second place is an improvement on the third place of 2023. :)

There is reporting from the garage that Ferrari knew about the problem with Charles’ battery back in Qatar, but hesitated on replacing it believing it wouldn’t be disabling.

Karma.

Even if they did know it wouldn’t change anything if they need to use a new battery beyond their allotted number for the season.

McLaren lock out for the last GP of the year. Unless they hit each other they surely should be good for the WC.
Leclerc starts in last place after a poor qualifying and a grid place penalty for a new power unit. I expect him to start in the pits.

Hoping George and Max get to mix it up on the track.

But OMG sick of hearing about track limits. Times deleted then reinstated. Just another bad day at the office for the stewards. Perez was very annoyed having to go again on new tyres just to be told his deleted time was reinstated.

The Hulk did amazing with P4. Out qualifying Max is pretty good for the Hass.
Lewis was unlucky to have a bollard thrown under his car in his last run. So an early exit means no champagne for his last run in a Mercedes.

Pork pies are great, so are scotch eggs.. I guess maybe instead of Zandvoort, the FIA should go US style, have a 2 format championship... 1-BTO Proper old school tracks, 2-Streets.. It takes about 2 hours to build a street track, there is no reason apart from a bit of legislation change to race in Zurich.. After all they race E Prix there..or did..Don't care for the silly E nonsense..

Race around Luton Airport, airports would make great tracks, long straights, and run offs..

I thought George was decent, but he has faded like a Perez for a win..

All over red rover, 2 titles done, 1 sort of expected, Max, but I hope they fine him for his comments on radio..Paw Paw winning the Constructors.. 98 days and counting, looking forward to page 1 of the 2025 thread... Over and out...Have a great festive season!!!

Good final race. Lando had a quiet one out in front, but kept his cool with two prancing horses breathing down his neck.
Great drive though the pack for Charles and Lewis. Makes you wonder how things might have played out without the penalty and that bollard!

Max driving into Piastri had a deserved penalty as he was left room.

Felt a bit sorry for Bottas on his last race. Didn’t feel sorry at all for Perez who should be having his last race.

Been a great season. I was expecting another boring one tbh. But it’s been full of surprises. Hoping for more of the same in 2025.

Max was super sharp and witty in the post race interviews, such a great sense of humour 🤣

I'm very curious to see how having a child of his own affects him. I'm not minimizing his Bonus Dad role at all. I do think it will be different for him. Regardless of his on track demeanor if people take the time to really get to know him (which most do not) he is very different off track. His interactions all weekend with Penelope were all caught on camera for once.

I don't think he's joking all that much about collecting the 12 points either. Allot of points will be handed out in 2025. Oscar's points for hitting the back of a brake checking Colapinto don't exude FIA confidence as we leave 2024.

The drivers have asked the FIA to impose harsher penalties for driving infractions in the hope it will reduce the occurrence of such infractions. This is why we now have 10 second penalties for things that were formally five second and safety-infringing penalties are now much harsher.

I do find it ironic that drivers will ask for stiffer penalties when on the receiving end of an incident but claim they are too harsh when it’s them who have caused the incident and getting penalised.

The drivers or George 😇 We know Max asked for 20 seconds 🤣

The FIA being consistent is still the issue. Oscar shouldn’t earn Penalty Points for the Colapinto meet and greet. There was no safety issue there.
