Audi has announced today that they are taking full ownership of Sauber/Stake F1 this year and not by the end of 2025. This will allow them to invest more in the team as well as start placing their staff into place.

I think LeClerc does. Bearman will still be learning the car and, starting 11th, could be swarmed at the start.

Alonso looks good too, as you noted and McLaren looked better than Mercedes.

How does the W15 look to you? To me, it seems as though last years rear suspension not putting the power down is the main issue once again? It definitely looks to have a better balance on high fuel loads.

As soon as they go out on lighter fuel loads they complain about no rear traction. Especially Lewis. Seems odd that Allison could muck up the new rear that much? If Lewis runs that high downforce wing in the race I don't think he will be able to make up for the loss of straight-line speed in the corners.

I expected a better package.

I wonder if they are still coming to grips with moving from pull-rod to push-rod rear suspension (like overall setup or how the aero flows with the new rear suspension).

Aston and McLaren run the same hardware (since they buy it from Mercedes) and while Aston seems to have a handle on it, I believe either The Race or Peter Windsor have noted that McLaren may be having similar adjustment issues to Mercedes.

Agreed. I did read something about this with the MCL38. It's great to see Fred so racy in the AMR24. Even Lance is able to drive it...........

Bearman is an 18 year old Englishter...

Given how little time he has had in the car, I think Bearman did well.

Of course the race will be much harder. At least we will have to entertain us whilst Max drives off into the distance.

As part of Saudi Arabia's "entertainment city" of Qiddiya, there will be an FIA Grade One track that will be the future home of the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix. Designed by Herman Tilke, the 21-corner track will exceed Spa's 7km in length and will feature a 110-meter high Turn One.

The track looks like it would be right at home in the 2008 Speed Racer film.

Well that was a dull one. Not even any action in the mid-pack to spice things up. NOR and HAM did well to go so deep on their Mediums, but even on fresh Softs could pass nobody ahead on ancient Hards.

Absolutely stellar drive by Oliver. Well deserved DOD. I hope he has a bright future. Once in a lifetime opportunity grabbed with both hands today. 👍
Impressive debut and handles himself so well in interviews despite still being a kid, a very mature head on his shoulders. I’d say he’s definitely got a bright future for sure.

Absolutely. His post race interview was like listening to a fully mature debrief.

This was very good.

Nice seeing positions 5,6,7,8 with the UK flag. Oliver was astounding! Hope he comes to F1 soon.
Bit of a boring race though. Only action in the midfield, Alex Albon drove superbly too. And interestingly the cars are closer together, I looked at the board on lap 25 and think last place was under a minute to first. Hopefully the top teams can improve and catch RB.

More drama with the media spin off the track for RB. Looks like they'll drag it on for another week..

Also I won't be surprised to see Oliver on the grid next weekend too. I imagine even though it's routine surgery ish, pulling those G forces for a couple of hours in an F1 car will make Carlos feel very sore, poor chap.

Australia is not until March 22-24. I think that gives sufficient time for an athlete like Carlos to recover.

I wish it was next weekend :)

Ah I thought it was this weekend, this season is very confusing lol. Yeah hopefully he’ll be back then.

A member in here made a prediction before the start of the season that it will boring because Max and Red Bull will be dominant again and that all the action will take place from 3rd, 4th and 5th position. Seems that member prediction was right.
