I was more thinking like a Max Verstappen but without the passion, more robotic and less funny.

I see that. I could agree. I just put down the first three names that popped when you threw Machine Like in there.

To me, Max has a little bit of many in his style and approach. I’ve tried to compare him many times. I keep coming back to, He’s like Max Verstappen. Hoping for some positive damage limitation this weekend. 👍

I'll respectfully disagree. I'm of the opinion Oscar's the better wheelman.

Agreed. It's always better to have clear, and timely communications. Zak needs to improve allot in this area. Although I don't see anything on the horizon other than Papaya Wars 2025.
That's cool. To each their own.

I would like to point out that he couldn't catch up to Lando at Hungary ... just saying...

I should have been clearer in my opinion. My observations tell me that Oscar is significantly more mature and in control of his emotions.

He does appear to be quite blank in interviews and less of a personality, definitely. Whether or not he’s consistently the faster driver remains to be seen. Lando certainly has the better qualifying record whilst they’ve been teammates but struggles to get off the line under pressure. I think they both display qualities that make them fairly equal in my view but not bothered if anyone agrees with that or not. I just hope the racing continues and despite the team orders, Lando keeps his head and at least brings it close towards the end of the season.

Interesting to see comments debating why Piastri is a better driver than Norris. What proves you wrong is that Norris has been out performing Piastri all season. Yes there will always be the arguments of bad pit stops, bad team decisions, bad running of other drivers on the track, bad..bad..bad as to why the alleged better driver Piastri is not doing better than Norris. The fact remains that Norris IS out performing Piastri.

I hear you and I agree, but we aren't correct, as by that logic everyone should agree that Max Verstappen is the better driver of them all. I'm pretty sure there are a few participants here who would never agree with that! :)

The debate about who is the better driver is always floored.

If both drivers are in the same car and given the same opportunity then it can be a closer comparison.

But then there is always the argument that one driver is getting the car developed to suit them over their teammate.

Personally I believe McLaren have two great drivers. There isn’t much between them imo. But Lando slightly edges it for me.

But surely, there is a measurement, or metric, that determines the best driver in a championship? Or isn't there? Can't that be applied between teammates as well?

I’ve always tried to use Season Performance along with Awareness and Pace metrics.

One could argue Max has benefited from Adrian’s initial breakthrough with the RB18. My response is usually, show me another driver on the grid who could achieve the same results with it. We can go all day long with Lewis and the W9,10,11? Sebastian and the RB7,8,9? Michael in the F310B, F300, F399?

I’m of the opinion those WDC’s were more the drivers ability to extract than the designers ability to design………

There are good, very good, extremely good and gifted drivers. I've always been of the opinion that if a car designer designs their car around a extremely good or gifted driver then they will have one hell of a winning combination.

The best driver will be known soon, and hopefully no one commits any crimes, if there are crimes committed, please supply case numbers so we can see the charge sheet..Still waiting for the case number/charge sheet for 2021 Abu Dhabi... What confused me, is that Lewis refused to sue Toto Wolff and Val Bottas.. After all Bottas cost Lewis a title, and a lot of money that comes with being a WDC..

Pretty much. I expect LeClerc to finally win at Baku, but if Piastri somehow takes him for the Checkered...do they still support Lando or do they prioritize winning the CC?

Devastating for Lando. Some say he was caught out by the Yellow Flag for Ocon and others say he just stuffed it in a corner and ran wide onto the curb.

Lando said he had to lift for the yellow flag which was caused by Ocon who was limping back to the pits with a flat tire after brushing the wall earlier in the lap.

What was going on with Albon? Why didn’t that marshal just grab the air box cover quicker? Someone is going to get a roasting on the pit crew!

If a Marshall moved to remove it, it is considered "outside interference" which could trigger an immediate disqualification. I presume the same would have happened if a Marshall had taken it from the sidepod once it had been removed, requiring Albon to toss it off the car when it was now "debris" and the Marshalls could remove it from the track.

And yes, whomever missed that had a serious case of brain fade. I mean the thing is day-glo colored for a reason.
