One thing is for sure, Eddie was liked throughout the sport and the tributes have been far reaching. His team were iconic and achieved a lot considering the limited budgets they ran with. I'd imagine a lot of teams will have tributes on their cars this weekend. Aston Martin have already shown theirs with 'Eddie Jordan' and the original Jordan logo on their air box. Of course EJ was Newey's manager and close friend, not to mention Aston Martin is the old Jordan team. Shame they can't bring back the 'Buzzin Hornet' girls back lol.

Lewis vs Max!

I loved Lewis's laugh and giggle when he learned he had pole. Bless him. It did make my grumpy old heart melt.

All super exciting this year as in how close it is. Max in that Red Bull getting a front row is pretty incredible driving as well. And ahem Liam Lawson 18th...Oops

18th what did I miss? He was 20th on the track.

I really didn’t understand last year why they dumped Danny Ric the way they did.
Perez was always the driver to dump. The logical play was to promote Yuki and leave DR as the team lead at VCARB and then bring in Lawson to do a real apprenticeship.

It’s baffling how the only team with 4 drivers can continuously mess this up.

I wonder whether there is something with Yuki or his contract and Honda that prevents this. It seems so obvious, doesn't it?

I'd be concerned if I was Max...

My guess is that what we are seeing here is most Max, the Red Bull just doesn't have it and the other teams keep progressing. I think even Lewis was hinting at that by naming Max by his name as being fast. Definitely not a given for another championship.

For Lewis, it would be astonishing if this is a turning point, and he has one more in him. For Ferrari also. Even if that makes his fans is more unbearable 🤣 Max has something way more important on his mind this year.

Unbearable fans is an understatement. ;)

It will take a literal miracle for Lewis to win the GP, he is with a team with one of the worst records in strategy in F1 from recent year lol. But it’s certainly spiced things up already! RB are still on pace thank goodness, but will it last who knows?
So a RB, McLaren, Ferrari, Mercedes battle…

  1. Well the end of Q1 was exciting. Track evo appears to have stalled after that.
  2. I'm a Racing Bulls fan this year, me thinks. :)
  3. Forget Doohan making it to Saudi Arabia. Will Lawson?
  4. Bearman doesn't make it to the line in time for a final lap. o_O
  5. Norris with more bottles this weekend than a Coca-Cola plant.

Agreed, Racing Bulls have really stepped up. I was irritated at first with Lawson getting Sergio's seat. I think Yuki has a much better chance with them in the modified RB20 than if he were in the RB21. Isack has potential as well. It's not easy adjusting to the circus. Good recovery for him so far this weekend.

I think Liam is safe until Miami. If nothing changes he might be out. If Yuki was offered a switch it would be interesting to watch it play out.... He might want to stay put. Would he have a choice?

Oliver has confounded me as much as Kimi has impressed me. Antonelli is going to be fun to watch develop.

Lando, well, it's Lando. Oscar is my early pick for the WDC. He should be McLarens #1 after Miami. I think Zak senses this as well.....

I disagree. I think Lewis has the skillset intact at 40. We won't really have a good look for a few more circuits. It's going to come down to how well he can communicate his needs in a way Ferrari understands. That's the big challenge for Lewis, IMO. Allot rides on the RB21 upgrade package around Bahrain. Only time will tell. Max is worth .4 a lap in the RB21. It's not a fast car on its own merits.

Interesting thoughts, we shall see. If Lewis wins it’ll certainly open it up for the year. I don’t doubt HE has the skill, just not sure about Ferrari.

I agree, my comment was more directed at Ferrari interpreting his feedback into setup changes. The Ferrari Strategy Fog is another topic in and unto itself...

Speaks volumes putting any stock in the silly sprint, that is like winning a 10 meter race, let's see how good you are over a 10km cross country... Lewis wins a non event, and everyone is going insane, like he won the actual event..Bizarre..

I wonder if by Wednesday anyone will remember or care who won the silly child's karting Saturday snooze? I had to google it, and I watched it on the telly.. a day later and I had no idea who won...

If that’s genuinely true I would seek medical help.

Well, I quite enjoyed that race. There was stuff going on to everyone's liking, and right until the last moment.

Well done on Oscar, that man is not waiting for his opportunity, he is taking it.

Lando did well nursing that McLaren home, annoying but all part of the experience.

And Russel is the one to watch out for. He is quiet, he is always there. He is focussed on getting on with the job. And I think the team understands that scoring regular points is what wins prices. Really well done.

Max did very well, but that Red Bull car needs some development. It was interesting though how it took so long to get into the rhythm, but once he was there his pace was incredible.

Charles and Lewis, yes its Ferrari. So much unrealised potential. But those race engineers they have just isn't working well for either of them. Painful to listen to.

And, at risk of becoming a person non-grate and deported from the Netherlands 🇳🇱🤣, dare I say that it is nice not to hear the national anthem (Wilhelmus) nor the Austrian one? You know, it is like your favourite song, and then everyone plays it, and you end up getting so bored with it.🤣

All in all, I'm excited for this season. I think it will be a great one.

I’m glad someone enjoyed it. I thought it was as dull as dishwater 😂 I think we were totally spoiled last weekend.

The most interesting thing I saw was Yukis wing failing.

I agree. The communication at Ferrari was painful to listen to.

Max was on it as usual. Bringing home a P10 car in P4. Let’s see what the Bahrain upgrade brings.

Congratulations to Oscar and McLaren.
