So here we are, last day of the 2025 Formula One Season, and the top 3 still to be decided. Great video from Nico Rosberg, on what it takes to hook up a lap at Abu Dhabi.

How disappointing.

I agree, as I don't believe the "sprint', adds anything to the race weekend, other than provide some racing instead of some Free Practice. Perhaps Free Practice should be livened up somehow. Full disclosure of specs, fuel loads etc.
As I've written previously, they could cut the main race back by 25% and have a race on Sat morning, and at the traditional time on Sunday, Qualifying for race 1 could be on Friday afternoon, and qualifying for race 2 on Saturday afternoon, with Free Practice on Friday morning & Lunchtime.
More full races, makes for more points available, and a more competitive season. I also feel the points should revert back to the old days, of 1st getting 10, 2nd getting 9, and so forth (or mix it up, and have 1st getting 20, and 20th getting 1).

Max spoiling the party.

But dont worry lads.

Lando got this.
Can see Piastri coming up the inside of turn one to pass Norris, and taking out Norris and himself.

Lewis is old enough to be racing in the same team as his son.. He thinks he could beat his son??? [If he had a son..that is...].. Age and wisdom are great, but there is a down-side, that is age degrades ability, there is a peak when you are in your early 20's to around 30/32, then after that, a slow march into the grave...

Lewis is his own worst enemy, he is doing this to himself, the same thing and expecting a different result [is that not the meme for saying insane??]

He moans about writing a doctoral thesis after every weekend, and no one reads it..

His attitude at the media pen, was enough to sustain a charge of "bringing the FIA/Ferrari/Liberty" into disrepute.. He needs to get the snail mail.. Leave.. The team are clear about who they don't want, and it is Lewis...

Age?!? Within the sport of F!, drivers are assessed for fitness, and also for mental acuity, the governing body oversees a lot of the health related data, to ensure the driver is medically fit to hold a F1 licence. Every team has a simulator, and continually assesses a drivers reaction time, and decision making. Alongside Hamilton being one of the fittest drivers in the paddock (remarked on by other drivers and pundits) and these teams having the best sports performance scientists around. Whilst F1 is demanding as a sport, it's no where near having the same level of performance needed for professional cycling and endurance sports such as Marathons and Ironmans, all of which, have athletes well into the 40's competing at the highest level.

It would be helpful if you could provide the 'quotes' from the team, regarding his position within the team. Lewis is long known to be a student of the sport, and drives a particular style. Ferrari would have known that, as did McClaren, Mercededs previously. If you are going to fork out millions on a driver, surely you'd make sure he was capable, and instrumental in moving the team forward. Sadly Ferrari are a lost cause, and both LeClerc and Hamilton should get outta of there.

Lewis v Max v Lando v Pies in the last race, 4 drivers, 2 titles up for grabs, it comes down to either age or experience, the old man v the youth..

The old man gets his title, insane.. A made for tv movie, would make some streaming service billions, give MarioKart reasons to celebrate.. Right now, 2 cars might as well be boat anchors for Mr E's yacht.. Both the cars fit only for the tip...Buried in a hole like they did with the shameful ET game from Atari..

Lewis won a race in 2025, albeit a Sprint, from that to 3 Q1 outs.. Harsh.. Lewis is so much more than that..

I really hope for the sport, for the fans that we have a strong MacLaren, Ferrari, Red Bull, Williams..

2 or 3 teams fighting for 2 titles at the end of the season, not a mid season done and dusted, might as well cancel the rest of the season.. Dead rubber events are boring.. No one cares about who came 4th..

99.99% of the average fan, cannot recall who finished 3rd in 2021, yet we all can call it 1 of 2 ways, either a great win for Max or a theft.. Lewis was robbed.. Who came 4th?...

Lando 2nd in the race, Max 1sr by 25 seconds, a pit stop ahead.. Pies, DNF... is my call...

I don’t see Oscar doing this unless Lando has a very poor start. Starts are Lando’s Achilles Heel though.

George is the elephant in the room. I think he has a P2 car. Rosberg had a nice interview with Toto after qualifying. Toto seemed genuine when he said “P2 is realistic for George, and an AMG PU in the MCL39 will play no role in the WDC winner from Mercedes POV. We will stay out of it.” So how aggressive does a P2 become by staying out of it? I’ll be watching George.

It will be anticlimactic in this scenario though. If Oscar is P3 he will move over for Lando. No drama. Mechanical failure is the only situation Lando needs to be concerned with.

Max will be P1 after turn 1. The marathon FP1 race pace stint will now bear fruit. But it won’t be enough. Lando will benefit from the chaos at Red Bull as Horners demise approached.

Remember the start to the 2021 race at this venue, Hamilton was quicker, and first into the corner, from P2. If Max get's a flyer, Piastri could sit oh his rear, and force Norris wide, However, if Norris is quicker, and gets to the corner first, it could leave him open to Piastri having a nibble at 3/4

I think George is the dark horse at the start. He has nothing to lose. The three in front do. He had a couple of super catches though.

Max for the race win I think. But I think Lando will get P2/3 depending on strategy etc.

I honestly expect a clean start. Russell knows he cannot beat Max for the win on pure pace and if he takes out Oscar or Lando, he will never hear the end of it from the fans. And if he takes himself out, he won't hear it from Toto, either. I expect him to do his usual "stealth run" and hope for a well-timed Safety Car to elevate him to the podium.

Oscar needs Max and Lando to take each other out at Turn One at the start and I do not see that happening. I expect Lando to let Max have the corner at Turn One and park behind him for the race and cruise to the WDC as Max cruises to the win. As such, I do not see Oscar trying an aggressive move on Lando like he did in Monza.

I feel sorry for Lando, if he loses the title today, he’s not good enough (apparently) and if he wins it, the excuses are all over social media and F1 articles claiming he doesn’t deserve it. Shocking how toxic it’s become to follow F1 in recent years. There’s just no respect for these guys from a vocal minority of fans these days. Lewis has had a shocking season and he’s held his hands up to his mistakes and Ferrari have clearly produced a handful of a car. The abuse he’s getting and claims he’s never been good and can only drive great cars is moronic in the extreme.

I remember so many seasons where we didn’t have a battle as close as this one and the title was decided with 5 races to go, and now we have one, it’s just being discredited. I hope Lando wins it and it’s a big two fingers up to the toxic fanbase. If I was Lewis, I’d be leaving this whole embarrassment of a circus behind.

I’m pretty sure he’ll win it all today.

Lol

Yuki was all over the place

Yes and no, he still overtook off the track, imagine if that was Max… the uproar of cheat would be DEAFENING… in fact that HAS happened before where he was pushed off track by Lewis, overtook off it and was penalised as a result if I recall…..

Thing is Lando did not need to overtake like that, he has it in the bag, RB have given up now and are settling for their position, which, considering where they were mid way through the season a phenomenal position.

So true. The caterwauling and copium of the Max and Oscar fans in the Discord server I watch the races on is deafening at the moment. I expect every one of them would be a "Drive to Survive" watcher if they were old enough to a) have a job, and b) have a credit card. :p

Congratulations to Lando. He did what he needed to do to win the title.

Also congratulations to Max for not "pulling a Lewis" and backing Lando into Leclerc. He just put his head down and
once he knew the WDC was out of reach, went for the race win.

And also congratulations to Oscar. He knew he had to win, so he performed an amazing pass done extremely cleanly to get past Lando and try and chase down Max.

Well done to Lando, fully deserved. Looks like he focused on keeping out of trouble and did enough here to be F1 World Champion 2025!!!

Great drives by Oscar and Max too, so cool to have a close season and a three way battle.

If they had penalized Lando, everyone would be claiming the FIA gifted Max another WDC.

It would be enforcing the rules though, the gifting aspect is in the minds of the fans. How manny on here screamed cheat at Max and the FIA with Max’s first win? They either enforce the rules or they do not.

Having seen the clip of that, it looks like Yuki was the reason Lando ended up overtaking off the circuit. This whole crowding off the track is something I detest and it really needs to go back to how it used to be. You leave space and if you push another driver wide, you get penalised IMO.

FIA stewards ruled Yuki forced Lando off-track, hence why he was penalized and Lando was not.
