Very happy that a fellow Brit won the championship.

Now, I do hope Lando keeps his number 4, versus switching to a number 1. We all know he is world champion, the number does not matter...

I think he’ll want to enjoy the number one on the car, I know I would. It’s different with multiple titles as Lewis and Max both had the number one and later chose to keep their personal numbers whilst being champion. It’s up to him, a minor detail and totally his call.

Not the result F1 wanted in my opinion. They wanted Max to win, The Lando's is disqualification is evidence of that, yes people will say rules are rules but how many other cars have been scrutinised at the level Lando's car was? and I mean 'really' scrutinised?

It is good that he has won it but he is not exactly a PR dream, unlike MAX, who is extremely marketable, Lando is not.

Max didn't seem to care about winning the WDC based on his comments and his not trying to help Charles pass Lando for third. Perhaps he felt people would say he didn't really earn it since he was truly out of it before McLaren started stuffing it up after the Summer Break. *shrug*

So not sure how "marketable" he would have been as WDC next year. On the other hand, I expect Lando will be quite excited as WDC...

Congratulations to Lando. He did what he needed to do to win the title.

Also congratulations to Max for not "pulling a Lewis" and backing Lando into Leclerc. He just put his head down and
once he knew the WDC was out of reach, went for the race win.

And also congratulations to Oscar. He knew he had to win, so he performed an amazing pass done extremely cleanly to get past Lando and try and chase down Max.

Oscar asked Max about “If he wanted to back them up” in the cool down room. Max was very candid. Just said “No.”

If people really want to know what Max cares about out just watch the pre race with Max, Lando, and Oscar. “So Max, how did you prepare for this weekend?” Max: “I spent time with my daughter, finished up some planning for GT3 next year, and made some decisions with my iRacing Team.”

I don’t expect to see him in F1 past 2028.

Not F1 but most reports reflect that Lando brings in twice the sponsorship money over Oscar for McLaren

Happy for Lando and the win. I think he has totally deserved it.

An engine failure, plank wear and pit stop strategy aside, McLaren can feel somewhat vindicated by their strategy of having 2 number 1 drivers.

The race itself wasn’t the best. No one really looked like catching Max, who drove well all season.

A bit nervous during the investigation, but the decision was the right one. He wouldn’t have gained the advantage of the track if Yuki was not putting him there.

Oscar played his part and I’m glad they didn't need’ team orders.

The cooldown room conversation seemed a little weird, strained even.
Yes, everyone was probably seriously exhausted. But...

Nope. Lando’s disqualification was evidence of they ran the car too low and the plank wore down beyond the legal limit. Nothing more. Nothing less.

Scrutaneering takes place after every race to the exact same standards. Always has. That’s why Ferrari got disqualified for the exact same thing earlier in the season.

Lando was exhausted emotionally. Oscar wanted Max to explain why he didn't try to back the field up. Max simply said, No. Max was correct not to. He commented in post that it didn't accomplish anything for Lewis in 2016, and if anything it would be more difficult in the current track layout.

Agreed, I think he will move to GT3 and other things, or concentrate on running his race team, he has a family now so I think he will think of that going forward first. He will do a Nico. Max has calmed down a LOT and matured massively since having his children.

It was great to have Nico at the race today. I love his no BS commentary. His coverage makes F1 seem like it's a global sport. /s ;)

Ok, see you in about 90 days and a couple of hours minutes seconds, when we all gather to comment, whine, whinge, suggest who are clowns and who are legends.. Will Mr Norris drive #1 or not.. time will tell.. Till 2026, have a great 25.12.2025 period.. Cheers..

Wow Lando is getting some abuse across every forum/thread I have seen and it demonstrates my earlier point about how toxic the fanbase of this sport is these days. Contrast that to the comments made by Max and Oscar who showed true class in their reflections and compliments towards the new champion, truly magnanimous.

I think next year is going to be carnage! New cars, engines, teams and drivers and rules. Think reliability will play a part in it.

Really? Just one of the many reasons I don’t do social media.
He’s a nice lad. Wears his heart on his sleeve, but there is nothing wrong with that.

Yeah theres a lot of criticism as many don't seem to understand how F1 works and its not always the 'greatest of all time' that wins every single championship. He is a nice lad and he acknowledges he makes mistakes. He was reflective on some of his cocky comments in the past about Lewis and Max and how he regrets them, he was very complimentary of Lewis and his advice, which I thought was lovely. I thought any of the three deserved the title as all three of them drove their hearts out all season. Lando did enough and I thought his conservative approach yesterday showed maturity and was a champions drive tbh. Max mentioned Lando and Oscar had a different type of pressure in that they were fighting each other within the same team and a lot of fans don't seem to understand how that sort of pressure-cooker environment adds a whole different layer to the focus needed.

Slower speeds too, similar to Formula 2 apparently. There is a lot more for the driver to do and it will be interesting to see how they all adapt. I think we will see a new order at the front too.
