well based on the quietness of apple i'd have to guess they are getting really close to releasing 3.1


or 3.1 gm

As I've predicted here at least twice, dating back a couple months ago - it will be september. And there will be features in the release that the devs haven't seen.

Argh. For the last time, MMS has nothing to do with this release, and GM isn't coming this week.

I think there will be talk of iPhone 3.1 at the September iPod event for a September release.

There may also be features in iPhone 3.1 that are related to iTunes 9 or Social that means they can't seed it any more without confirming it.

iPhone 2.1 was officially announced at the same event last year.
