3.1 breaks tethering

Damn dude. 3.1 isn't even out yet. Give it a rest. Better yet, go install it and let us know. Yeah, ding ding.
Good to know, I'll be keeping the Jailbreak and my MMS & Tethering....
^^ +1 I lost my tethering hack due to SL (10.6 broken the helper app) but I am not willing to loose the jailbreak nor my unlock.
SF, do you know how I can re-enable tethering. I used SSH via Wi-Fi.

I used iPhoneModem.de helper app. It opens and works fine, but as soon as it starts setting up the connection, it crashes.
because Im not gonna update my iphone if it breaks tethering. so I just want somebody whos done it already to let me know..
there are a couple different methods I think. the one I use still work and I tether through bluetooth no less.
well your just gunna have to wait till after the event...update is not available through itunes just yet

I can't find the original instruction but I do remember that it requires that you configure iTunes to accept a "test" carrier file which would enable tethering, and you turn off the function afterward.
you need to put the carrier file in one of the iTunes directory, turn on carrier testing mode for iTunes, load the carrier file using iTunes, sync the carrier profile to iPhone, and that is it. I don't have the original instruction but I do have the command
"defaults write com.apple.iTunes carrier-testing -bool TRUE"
and the binary carrier file has the name ATT_US.ipcc
I use a mac so it might not work with PC.

Tethering has been broken in 3.1 since beta 2. It still is in beta 3 and I doubt it will be working in the final release.

I'm running SL w/o issue...att can suck it honestly. i'll be waiting for the iphone dev team to release their updated jailbreak/unlock methods. hopefully this will also take care of tethering.
How about the DATA CELLULAR NETWORK option?
