It will be an 8 with a brand new design which will no doubt tempt me as per usual to splurge a load of money on something I don't need but WANT :D

There is absolutely nothing to suggest that Apple will deviate from the typical release cycle. This years' iPhone will be the 7S. What the differentiating factor will be remains to be seen.
