That's understandable.
I just ordered! Thank you. I'll let you all know how installation in a 17" running Mojave goes. I have Google wifi and about 300mbps internet. I'm tired of only getting 50 on this laptop.
Yes. For the record here's what I'm dealing with now.View attachment 837845
I can't wait. Thank you for your work with this!I get 867Mbps link speeds using the Google Wifi router, which is a limitation of the router and not the wireless card.
Unfortunately, if I continue to use USPS, I have to ship some buyers two cards due to the terrible service of USPS as of late, and they return the first one that shows up a few weeks later. That affects my inventory for other buyers.
I just enabled UPS.
Just curious...
I’m on a 2010 MBP 15” running Sierra connected to a 100Mbps home network. Whenever download at full speed my MBP fans blast away top speed.
If I upgrade to this AC card, and if my network allows say, 1Gbps, won’t it blow my MBP till kingdom come...? Or does this card fixes the fans ramping up problem...?
That's unusual, I'm not sure why the fans would be blasting due to network throughput. Is the MBP free of dust and have you done a repaste on the heatpipes?
Upgrading to my card should not change the thermal profile of the MBP by any means.
I think your issue is related to Automatic Graphics switching. When you open Chrome on the 15" it will switch to the discrete GPU. What I use to keep my 15" MBP's on IGPU when web browsing is GFXCardStatus. This will allow you to choose IGPU or discrete.Just curious...

For those that have installed the new cards did you have to update your drivers? What version of OS are you running?
Would it be possible to get info on this?
I got mine installed today (Thanks Troop!) and my speeds are all over the place.
I've tried different permutations of antenna connections and it jumps from 351 to 1170.
What router are you using and 5Ghz?
Last and latest generation Apple Airport Extreme 802.11AC router. I am set to 5Ghz. Made sure all antenna connections are tight and the wires are not crossed over. Reset PRAM, reset SMC, removed my wireless setup and reconnected. It works, it's just not staying at a constant speed. My router is 20 feet away with no obstruction. (also not complaining, hopefully this will help troubleshoot other people who buy this upgrade)
[doublepost=1558495636][/doublepost]I rebooted my basestation and that seems to have helped!
This is a great product and Troop definitely stands behind it and was super proactive and communicative. I can't recommend this highly enough to anyone looking to update and supercharge their wireless on their MacBook Pros.
Very very happy and satisfied with all aspects of the transaction and the board is beautifully designed.
For anyone troubleshooting this is a great article especially the channels, RSSI and Noise:

Mine arrived yesterday - nicely packed, all as intended. Will install them over the weekend. All cards have been sold out!
Thank you to all of my first buyers!![]()
