Does anyone know if a scanner works plugged into a router? Mine works when plugged directly into my computer of course, and I don't want to lose that capability. Would I have to get a better router to get this ability?
As for the internet speed, I'm told that the advertised speed of the routers is BS, that they aren't nearly that fast. So yeah, if you work out the numbers according to what the routers claim, then it looks like the router is faster than the internet connection. However, that's not the speed the router actually gets so in reality it's not true. The router gets only teeny fractions of what they claim. I can illustrate this by telling you that my router claims 108Mbps!! Twice as much as you say G routers operate at. I'm told that it probably operates at just a few Mbps, way lower than the speed of the internet coming in.
So far it seems like no one agrees with this statement though so I may have to go back to the store where I was told about the false advertising and ask about the N routers to see if they claim the N will give you faster internet. Has anyone here actually clocked their router at 54Mbps or anything even close to that?
