It's actually 6 years.
I've had an M1 MBP & iPad Pro refunded in year 2, using consumer law.

besides even tho we have consumer law as i said (im french btw) apple are some of the biggest and worst dicks (im sorry ) you can find, refusing to fix if you dont have apple care + ,acting like dicks in case of a hidden deffect ,etc...apple are greey and the customer service is -imo- absolute garbage (unless ,ofc, you bought an insanely expensive warranty to accompany your 3k apple product )
Yes, they will try to get out of anything they can.2 defects in 5 years and u can ask for a refund ? never seen such a thing, mind sharing a link or sth ?

Mind recording a short video, and sharing here?I have the same 2021 MacBook Pro 16'' model as yours, and from the video it sounds like you have the exact same pop / click sounds on your display hinge as I do on mine.
It happens when I'm closing the lid (but almost never when opening it), and usually happens when it's at about a 30 degree angle. One or two very subtle pop / click noises from the display hinge as it's being closed. Don't have any other issues with the computer. The noise is so quiet that most people probably wouldn't notice it unless they were listening for it. So I would think it's more widespread than can be gathered from online forums right now. From the issues I've read on discussion boards about the new 14'' and 16'' MBPs, my guess is exchanging it would open the door to the same or even additional issues.
It's reassuring to know someone else is having this issue and it's not just me.
hoooly crap ,6 years ? six full years during which your warranty is valid ?? should your fan fail,or a keycap of your keyboard breaks, you could ask for a fix for free !!! whoahIt's actually 6 years.

meh not rly.i know that theory but with me they've still been dicks when the law was on my side..whateverYes, they will try to get out of anything they can.
However, as soon as you mention consumer law (you have to tell them, as they don't volunteer the information) their attitude changes, and you have the upper hand.
Their hands are tied.h

I can't recreate it right now, but it sounds very similar to your video.Mind recording a short video, and sharing here?
I think it will fade with time.I can't recreate it right now, but it sounds very similar to your video.
Just exchange it, if it were to stop for a bit you’d always be waiting for it to do it again. This thing is p*****g me off!
On the verge of resetting this machine and returning it tomorrow.
“Anticipation of death is worse than death itself.”Just exchange it, if it were to stop for a bit you’d always be waiting for it to do it again.
Start afresh and hope for the best.
I‘m not an engineer and didn’t design the hinge so don’t know if it will go away.“Anticipation of death is worse than death itself.”
However, it’s the lottery of getting a unit with worse issues, like dead pixels (which I’ve been unlucky with) a keyboard issue, speaker issue, and even the possibility of another unit that makes a similar noise.
Do you think it will go away in time?
Thanks for your advice, buddy.
+1 , very interested as well !About the scratches under the screen, is it possible to pos a pic so we can see it?
Good luck with that. You're confusing me, buddy!
One minute you say keep it, keep it! Now you're saying to return it?
It was doing it earlier, when I first opened it.
Now, it's not doing it. I'm going to give it until next week, to make up my mind. I have until next weekend to make up my mind, so I'm trying not to be hasty. I don't want to get another one with other issues, as this one is otherwise perfect. I'm hoping the noise is simply because it is new, and in time it will wear in and stop.
That's a good idea.If you have enough money I'd suggest you BUY another MacBook and keep the one u prefer ,instead of exchanging and regretting what you had previously
Just checked availability, and it's not available, so that's not an option.Yw and gl
It was a discussion, regarding not only the issue I had, but also other people’s issues. It only took 70 posts for you to make up your mind. Don‘t ever get a job as an air traffic controller or planes will be falling out of the sky.
I’m glad you’ve returned it, regardless of your “caked” situation you need to be happy with your purchase. It was a discussion, regarding not only the issue I had, but also other people’s issues.
An air traffic controller couldn’t pay me enough.
I’m already caked in money.
Hello brother.I’m glad you’ve returned it, regardless of your “caked” situation you need to be happy with your purchase.
Fingers crossed the new one is a winner……..keep us posted…….oh and Merry Christmas!
It's very noticeable
