Just curious for those of you that switched from Adorama to B&H-
Adorama did not charge me for the full price of the Macbook up front. I was charged for Applecare, and the remainder was to be charged when they had the laptop in stock.
B&H charged me for everything immediately, even though they estimate a ship date of the first week in January. Is charging up front common for most retailers? I purchase 99% of my items via Amazon, and they don't have this policy. Just curious.
Don't rely on Fry's deals. It's already gone and it was only store pickup for a few open box or demo models across the country.Got an email today! ...to tell me my MBP is still backordered.
I guess the benefit of this is seeing all the deals for the 2015 MBP pop up. I think Fry's has the 512/R9 15" for $1600 tomorrow. Heavily considering picking one of those up and revisiting these new ones after the kinks have been worked out.
On a side note, B&H today started showing several BTO models as in stock. I assume their first patch arrived and these are what are left after pre-order fulfillment.
Did you wind up price matching? BH has my configuration in stock (sans the free Brenthaven case) but I'm not in dire need to have my MBP yet.Hmm.... BH has my configuration in stock. If they'll match the price, I may try to switch my order tomorrow.
So... I just chatted with an Adorama person. Estimated date of delivery is mid February! WTF! At this point, I don't think B&H will ship much earlier either. Might have to walk in to Apple and buy...
