I don't doubt the value of Adobe products. They are superior to Affinity's in most ways, but if you're not a designer, it's not really worth the subscription price. I do a bit of design for my work, but it's my focus and so I don't live in Adobe apps all day long.
$50/month for programs that get lightly used once or twice a week and heavily used a handful of times a year is ridiculous.
The only reason i don't have photoshop is because of the monthly subscription i prefer to pay for my software outright.
Anyone know how long the discount lasts? Reviews seem good and I only play around so I'm not interested in paying adobe prices.
I dont know how it works with the 12.9" IPP but I have the 9.7" IOS 10 and have used it the last few days and it is awesome! I look forward to IOS 11 too (plus I have ordered a 12.9") but I wanted to take advantage of the discounted AP price available now.I don't know to get it or not cause i guess the app gonna work better with iOS11 and Files app.
So how is this in iOS 10? And on first generation of iPad Pro 12.9'.
I don't use Affinity Photo but it should easily do all of that.Perhaps someone can give me some advise....
I own a small music production company, and for the last 5 years I have been paying a local graphic artist to design my album covers. I usually find photos from istockphoto.com and then the graphic artist simply adds my company logo and the album title in some fancy text over the top in a suitable style to complete the cover.
A couple of years ago I was told that in order to do this myself I would need an Adobe license. Since we only release music once or twice per year, the cost would have been more than the $100-150 I typically pay our graphic artist.
I'm wondering if this app would be enough to accomplish this with my iPad Pro and an Apple Pencil. Here are my needs:
1) I need to be able to crop and adjust the pixel resolution of a JPEG file.
2) Add text (I'd like to have a variety of nice fonts, perhaps some with 3D type effects) and my company logo over the top of the JPEG picture. This can sometimes be a bit complicated as it needs to be able to have good control over layers. For example, if the text has an "O" in it, I would need to be able to see the background image through the center of the "O".
3) I would like to be able to save some sort of template where afterwards I can just substitute in a new image and new text, and have the same layout every time for every album.
4) I need to be able to adjust the pixel resolution of the final covers to a few different sizes to make available to my distributors.
Would this app provide all this capability by itself? If so then I will definitely purchase it.

This shows how much computing has changed. Not so very long ago, an application with that kind of feature range cost several hundred Dollars. Then, things became a bit more affordable e.g. with Photoshop Elements at around $100 (though I own a not-so-old version of Photoshop Elements that has no selection tool that could compete with Affinity's excellent Smart Selection Brush). Now, $20 is already considered a risky investment for an extremely feature-rich photo editing software. The short demo peaked my interest but at $20 I need some opinions/reviews. Anyone play around with it yet?
It gets even more amazing when it runs quite smoothly on my old iPad Air 2. Sure, it is probably much better on an iPad Pro, but it's not a definite requirement. Another example of how massively the computing world has changed in the last ten years.I bought it to try and stop my reliance on adobe CC and its been amazing. I think this is the first true replacement for photoshop. its insanely powerful. its new to the App Store so there are a couple of bugs and a crash here and there but most of the time I'm still amazed that I can do things that used to require a full blown computer with photoshop to do.
they should make a bundle for mac and ipad.
I have the Mac version. Excellent software. I like it more than Pixelmator and I find it easier to use.
