Oh, and MxPlayer is indeed another reason. It's just an awesome video player thanks to the gestures to rewind and fast forward. On iOS some video players allow this, like VLC, but only moves 6 seconds backwards or forwards. On Android I can move the playback all the way to the beginning or the end with just the swipe gesture. Awesome.

Android has also some other nice stuff not available on the S6, like multiuser accounts. I want a Nexus phone to get that feature.
Multi user was introduced as part of lollipop. All Nexus devices have it.

I only used android once before for a week and couldn't stand it so I can't comment on most of your points. However I 100% agree with you on the third party keyboards in iOS, they are atrocious and I was so excited to try swiping when it was announced. Major letdown still to this day.

I thought the android AMOLED screens were much better? Funny that you find 6S+ screen better

In my opinion Apple makes the best LCDs hands down. Still doesn't beat AMOLED though.
.

Clarification required ...
Doesn't beat a 'good' Amoled.

Outside of Samsung's flagships most Amoled are not fantastic.

They suffer from very off colour whites often veering yellow or red, they tend to have really poor outdoor visibility and saturation is way off point.

There is too much generalisation on fora regarding Amoled being better than LCD.

Most of the hardware rumors I keep hearing about for iPhone 7 will have dual camera setup and waterproofing. Stuff we already seen a couple years ago with Android devices. Then OLED using Samsung's panels for next year. Yippee! What next? Fast and wireless charging?

Once you start using one iOS device, it pretty much feels the same. That is the point though since even have half decade old devices still get software. They want the consistent user experience and hardware/software integration. Blah blah blah ecosystem, I get all that. I just think people who love to tinker will get bored with it faster inside that walled garden.

Design-wise, even iPhones are no longer the sexiest. S6/S7 edge, Huawei P9, and Xiaomi Mi 5 are just as sleek and sexy. Only reason why SE gets praised because the 6 series design was so awful in comparison which doesn't look to change for the 7 series. Back in 2013, the HTC One M7 still looked better than an iPhone 5s. I think Apple can do alot better if the iPhone 5 series is considered their best design.

More dual edged displays are coming. Foldable displays are coming. Guess which platform will have it all first? Android. It seems Apple is acting me too and now does all the following after a couple of years...

From the sounds fast and wireless charging is coming in 2017 on iPhone but why wait two years? Makes no sense...

I certainly won't be getting the iPhone 7 based on rumours. I still need my iPhone for certain things but I certainly can do with my 6s plus for quite a while. Maybe see in 2017 where I likely will get that if it lives up to expections

Fast charging is already available if you use the iPad 2a charger on the iPhone 6 and above.

So 'official' fast charging means little unless they mean it in retrospect to wireless charging alone.

People are being too quick to write off the iPhone 7 already and it's just typical fora behaviour. Up to March everyone had written off HTC completely and now they've suddenly become the new Android darling from tech enthusiasts ...

Problem is history tells us rumours are normally what happens. We all knew about the 6s plus before it came out.

Hope they surprise us but not sure they will

What was causing so strong emotions against android?

the interface just felt messy and convoluted, and I felt like i had to go through several steps in order to accomplish something simple, the quality and appearance of some apps was disappointing compared to their iOS versions . The notification system was horrible, keep in mind that this was 3 years ago so things could have changed by now..... Anyway I don't want this to come across as Android bashing by any means, I think its simply a matter of preference which varies by individual.

Fair enough I guess. I thought that Samsung was providing AMOLED for phones now though?

Not for all and even then the panel they produced for the 6P for example was not of the same quality of the S6/S6e/S7/S7e/Note4/Note5 lines.

Motorola's Amoled panels have always been sub-par on all generations of the X. The X Pure/Style has a better screen than the X Force despite it being LCD vs Amoled.

Nexus 6 (Moto) was poo too and Nexus 6P whilst an improvement over the N6 screen, it still has all the hallmarks of a poorer amoled with yellow whites/cast and dire outdoor visibility.

Doesn't the Moto X Force have the Samsung panel as well? I know it's the same 5.43-inch QHD panel as on the BlackBerry Priv, I always just assumed that it was from Samsung, since Samsung started selling their panels a few months before they were released.

Is th Moto X Style display good for an LCD?

Im an Android guy but that post was very detailed and fair imo. Im surprised with the screen comments as the latest Samsung phones on the correct screen setting are the most accurate phone screens available.

Yeah the Style display is good, it has no problem outdoors and white balance is far more accurate.

The X Force is a nice handset but it's panel is possibly its weakest part. It's got a poor yellow cast and outdoors it's pretty much useless in sunlight sadly. It's miles away from any of the recent Samsung ones in their flagships anyway.

I just carry a high end android and lastest iPhone all the time.

I get the best of both worlds. Problem solved!

Currently own the S7 and iPhone 6S plus. I have multiple lines to myself. On both att and Verizon.

It does get a little weird at work when I gotta use sprint blackberry issued work phone in the hospital (sprint has its own cell towers inside the hospital)

So I have 3 phones hanging from my scrub pockets during work.

At least I don't have to worry about coverage either carrying 3 different phones on 3 different networks.
I have five lines on T-Mobile and use them between a Note 4, Note Edge, Note 5, S7 Edge, 6S, 6S+ and a 6+.

My main line is in the S7 Edge and it is paired with a Gear S watch so I can leave the phone home and take any one of the other phones with me and still get calls and texts on the watch.

I've known others who have taken more then one phone with them to work so it happens.

I'm so happy for the surprise of HTC!

The iphone 7 is going to have a rough time IMO because the 6S is really quite good. I couldnt even give you a list of things (that apple would actually do) that would push me to upgrade. Higher screen res, waterproof, (dual camera will probably only be on the plus), new design that I would cover up with a case.. arent enough for me!

The 6S being the first iphone with 2gb ram, should have an incredibly long usable life.. the A9 hasnt even begun to be taxed, the storage is blisteringly fast, the camera is really the only thing where I look at other devices and say.. I wish.. but it is still good enough for me especially since no other device matches the 6s combination of processor & storage speeds w/ long term support and a good camera (you know I always speak from the perspective of nonphablet phones - which is still market majority eh?)

nexus has slow storage and iffy screen, lower binned parts whatever you want to call it, samsung has iffy support, htc is still up for debate and hopefully a pleasant surprise

Android can have all this stuff first. As in Touch ID, when Apple implements whatever, it will be well thought out. In the meantime I want my iPhone to be like the tortoise.

You mean like horrible 3rd party keyboard support, eractic text selection, and extremly limited widgets? Or is it the control toggles that you can't edit? I can go on and on. Apple isn't perfect.

Went ahead and moved the sim for my only line from the 6s+ over to the Nexus 6P, set up the Huawei Watch and put the iPhone and Apple Watch in the drawer for now. :D

Trying to keep some detailed notes comparing living with the 2 different sets of hardware in 2 different ecoysystems, will eventually share for anyone who might be interested.

Oh, and FWIW, I shut off iMessage on my iPhone, unlinked the phone number from my other Apple devices, moved the sim to my Nexus, used the deregister link just in case, sent a text from my both my wife and daughter's iPhones and immediately got the text messages. So for those hesitant to switch because of the iMessage 'handcuff', rest assured that while slightly annoying, take the correct steps (took all of a minute or two) and you shouldn't have any issues. This is probably the 3rd time I've done it over the past few years without issue.

I've been using my S7 Edge for the last two weeks and if I'd known how flexible android is then I'd have jumped ship earlier.
I see what people mean by the android jank but I don't care. I just absolutely love this phone and OS.
My biggest comparison would be android is to iOS what Windows is to OSX.
The OS makes the S7E feel like it's my phone were iOS makes me feel like it's Apples phone.
Also I'm finding marshmallow far more beautiful than ios9 and the battery, what is there that hasn't been said about the battery.
My one and only complaint is that I wish Samsung would open up the edge features more.

Yes all of those, or the laggy touch wiz etc. I could go on also Apple isn't perfect but neither is anybody else.

But you did ignore the success of Touch ID which was the original point.

Of course I ignored Touch ID, it's not one of Apple's cons. I'm not involved in a pissing match. Touch ID was a great implementation by Apple.

Forunately, Android manufacturers quickly implement those same ideas as equal or better than Apple. I wish I could say the same for Apple. I'll be waiting forever for Apple to implement Google's and manufacturer's ideas.
