I never understood that design element and wished it'll disappear on the Series 4. I think I can live with that rumored thin red circle.

I think it's a "thin red circle", and doesn't affect any of the important things of the watch, CPU Speed, memory, and even to a certain extent, watch faces, or price. It's a "thin red circle"... *sigh*

Appearance isn’t important? I’ll sign you up for the poop colored watch then!

You’ve clearly never spent time on watch forums, where the tiniest details are debated.

I personally do think the red dot looked bad, but I am a watch nerd.

No, I have not spent time on other watch forums, just this tech forum, but I imagine that they all have similar discussions in some form or another, but nor am I going to _not_ purchase a Watch because of a red dot on a crown. But I also can differentiate this is just nothing more than a tech watch that we should enjoy for what it to offer in terms of health and communication capabilities, not some high-end Swiss watch that we spent $7000 to gripe about something that’s irrelevant. I can look past the littlest details, others clearly can’t. To each their own.

I'm not saying it's a cause for not buying the watch, as a little sticker takes care of that. I'm simply saying that, from a design standpoint, it's ok to say it's a bad move.

Actually, a nice, copper brown watch would look pretty good, IMHO, perhaps in Stainless? LOL
Or, if I eat a lot of Hershey bars, that's a pretty decent colored poop too, a nice chocolate brown...

NOTE: This ain't going nowhere good... LOL

But I don’t....think its a bad move, I mentioned many times I’m neutral rather it exists or not. . Its a subjective move that not everyone will agree with, Which is fine. But what remains is what I said earlier in a previous post, that the red dot is such a minuscule topic, It will never make its way outside this thread to actually be relevant above anything else.

Oh, and I’m not sticking some cheap watch Dot sticker to hide the red dot, which I think that’s even weirder and in someways just cheapens the Watch even more by using a sticker to hide something that is a non-issue, but obviously it is for others, which almost a year later, this thread manages to prolong, which is indicative of circular discussion on the internet over nothingness.

I hope it is not only more red but it has a led in it to light it up!
Haha. I have about 1000 RGB LEDs on my gaming PC and peripherals, so I'm all for it. :p Seriously though, I've never been bothered by the red dot, and never understood why some foolish people make such a big deal out of it. A; it's teensy tiny, and B, if one wears the watch "normally", IE with speaker and mic facing the wearer you can't even see the dot yourself.

Actually today I saw a guy on the bus wearing an LTE watch. The dot lit up the whole vehicle with its overbearing presence!!! (...Not! lol)

Of course it’s subjective. That’s the whole point of the thread, which you’re participating in despite complaining of its existence.

I think a lot of it simply comes down to how much one really cares about design. The “who cares, it’s just a crown” argument doesn’t apply to me. I care about the design of just about everything I buy. I still bought a v3, because there weren’t better options, but the dot still bugs me.

Either way, it looks like Apple has thankfully moved on from the red dot in the next generation. The rumored v4 design is cleaner in a few ways.

This is THE Apple Watch now. S4 makes S3 look like garbage. I’m sorry. It’s true.

I think the new red ring is a fair compromise compared to the awful red dot. Not sure why we need to compromise with Apple about this but hey...
It looks almost exactly the same except maybe a hair thinner but now the S3 is garbage? Talk about hyperbolic nonsense. Though I suppose Apple doesn’t care if it gets you to buy a S4.
