I currently have the 2nd gen and just ordered the 3rd gen. Original email said delivery on 10/26 but the Apple Store app doesn't have a date. Not to worry.
I am curious as to how well the "pinch control" feature will work. I have always loved the tap method of controlling and hated the pinching on my Airpods Pro because when I pinch, it usually dislodges the airpod from my ear. I know these don't have the silicone so they won't have to be pushed back in but I still don't like it. There are times where I'm working and my hands are dirty and I use the back of my hand to tap the side of my head to pause my music. I won't be able to do that anymore. Bummer.

I just cancelled my order after realizing that the 3rd gen doesn’t support double-tapping 🙁. That’s a crucial feature for me in the winter with a hood on. I was actually looking forward to the shorter stems fitting better under a hood or headband, but if I can’t control them by tapping then it’s useless.
Another one to add to the list. It’s the only case I could find at the time. I’m glad someone else prefers a case without the carabiner bulge.Just been looking case options. Majority have a carabiner attached and hard to find one without.

Yup. Hated the scuffed up look on my first gen AirPods and felt much more comfortable throwing my 2nd gens in a bag/pockets with keys etc when I had a case.
I have not been a fan of the glossy white apple has been using for the AirPods case. I get a case cause it adds grip and I don’t have to see the glossy ****** white case. I prefer the thin black cases I get for my case. They are usually $6-$10 a piece and that’s fine for the 2+ years I keep my pair.

I've always wanted a nomad case but a) leather wears and i put a case on my case to not see the wear and b) thats a little more then I want to pay for a case.
I have a buddy who has loved all of the nomad cases he's bought for his airpods and I like the case too but im really just trying to have a thin piece of silicone just be a protective / non glossy / black layer on my case. The nomad cases are built well thou and one day I might get one if I can be bothered to spend that much on a case for my airpods.
Now for my phone, I would get it hands down but I like super thin cases for my phones like Bare/Totallee/Peel/etc
forget, I went to return it and they said keep it and refunded.
wow. im surprised amazon let you keep a $30 case. Even on sale it couldn't have been that cheap.
Now having owned it for awhile, would you pay full price for the case or still something you would look for on sale even if its only a few bucks?
I really like it, very nice to hold and has got better overtime. The wireless charging works with it too. I cancelled my order for the new ones so it will be with me for longer now.
Preordered about 10-15 minutes after it opened and got a delivery date of the 27th, which is fine with me. Confirmed both in the app at time of purchase and my order email.
Since then the app says “Your order is being processed. Available to ship null”
Has this ever happened to anyone else? If I view it from the Apple Store website, it just says “Arrives” and then a blank space for where the date would be (I can see it past orders below it, in the same spot it says “Delivered 1 September 2020” for example).
I tried to contact Apple Support but unfortunately they’re closed until Monday morning for me haha so curious if this has ever happened to anyone else before. I see others have ‘preparing to ship’ but I’m from New Zealand so I figured I might be on a different shipping schedule or something…
